Sunday Tea Hoots 11 – NaNoWriMo Day 29

NaNo-2015-Winner-Badge-Large-Square

Boom, did it, 50k words written for NaNoWriMo! #NaNoWinner2015!

I like to thank the powers of Shou Pu’er for this writing win. I have a box full of pu’er samples and I drank down every shou pu’er sample I had and badly dented one of my aged oolong stashes to fuel writing this thing. Funny as I last week that I knew I was going to finish despite not having an actual real story title nor a book cover. Apparently having a cover increases your chance of finishing writing 50k words by 60%. More funny is that half my secondary characters have place holder names or initials, and all my towns were named after nail polish colours I had sitting on my desk.

You can see on around day 14 was when I badly sprained my ankle 🙁 I found it really hard to write with all the pain I was in so I was just doing the minimum to keep me in the running. It took about a week to get it back in control and pull ahead. This is my second NaNoWriMo win, the first being back in 2012. It was around 35k words I felt hitting 50k was going to happen!

The bad news – December won’t be spent editing, the book is maybe 2/3 done so I need to keep chipping away at it! I am glad I bought a bunch more shou pu’er during Black Friday. If my sample of Crimson Lotus’ 2014 Gu Ming Xiang Bulang Gushu Shou Pu’er turns out to be amazing, I might need the kilo brick to help me finish my story.

I haven’t talked much about my story, but it is Fantasy Romance, strong female lead and yes there is tea drinking in the story. I haven’t written about it yet, but there’s owls in the story too.
