Earl Grey Heaven is a creamy earl grey black. This tea is from The Persimmon Tree! Okay, I discovered this tea got a rename from Earl Grey Creme to Earl Grey Heaven. With that said, the packaging on my tea is the old name. My dad LOVES earl grey teas since Captain Picard ordered it. As a kid we’d sit on the floor (we had couches, but preferred sitting on the floor for TV time) sipping crappy bagged oversteeped earl grey that tasted more bergamont, paper and bitterness. Despite having a loose leaf crazy daughter, Dad still uses the bagged tea variety. … Continue reading, hoot!
Pancake Breakfast is a black tea blend that tastes like pancakes! This tea comes from 52 Teas, an online tea sellers that releases a limited edition blend each week. 52 Teas does some really CRAZY FUN blends – lots of cheesecake and nerd-inspired teas. I buy quite a bit from 52 Teas – however, this is the first time I’ve reviewed their tea here on Oolong Owl. I haven’t bought anything recently, so most of my stash is of 52 Teas you tea peeps won’t be able to buy, unless it gets reblended. Also, teas sell out pretty quick – so … Continue reading, hoot!
Champagne Rose is a black tea flavored with strawberries. This tea comes from Lupicia. Happy Valentines Day! Okay, I have to admit – I don’t drink alcohol. I drink like maybe 2 or 3 times a year, and only if it’s free at a party or something. I was/am a total nerd and during university, spending my time playing video games, knitting and drinking tea instead of doing the bar scene. When I’m having a nice dinner at home, my husband and I reach for the sparkling non-alcoholic apple cider. Well, mostly him. I would have a little bit then switch … Continue reading, hoot!
Brazillionaire is a black tea that features brazil nuts and raisins. This tea comes from DavidsTEA. I’ve been on more of a white and green tea kick. A couple month ago, my tea stash was mostly blacks and I started getting tired of all the black tea. I need variety! There is just so many black tea blends out there and I wish tea companies would experiment more with other teas! Anyways, I figured I should drink more black teas so I don’t get sick of all the white and greens I’ve been drinking. How about a pot of Brazillionaire? DRY LEAF: … Continue reading, hoot!
Pineapple Upside Down Cake is a black tea blend that tastes just like the name. This tea blend comes from Della Terra Teas, an online loose leaf tea seller. FYI – Della Terra has AMAZING and creative black tea blends. They do other teas, but the bulk of their lineup is black teas. Their chocolate teas are very chocolately and their marshmallow teas are extremely well done! Della Terra also has lots of good sales – for last black friday, in my opinion, had the best deal going out of all the online tea sellers. (I’m a tea nerd, I write … Continue reading, hoot!
Fantasy is a black tea that features caramel, honey and fruit. I got this tea from Lupicia, off the 2012/2013 Happy bag! This is the first time for me to try this tea – first impressions, ya! DRY LEAF: Amazing fruity scent that is mouth watering good. Not actually sure what fruit really, probably a mix of fruit. There is a bit of a smokey caramel smell that kinda reminds me of coffee. STEEPED: Nice classic black tea colour. Smells slightly sweet and black tea like. I steeped Fantasy with boiling water for 2.5 minutes, as per package instructions. TASTE: Standard … Continue reading, hoot!
