52 Teas Sampling and Kickstarter

I have a couple really good looking flavored tea blends that I’ve been meaning to open and sample. S’mores Chai and Tiramisu Oolong! Very unique teas. 52 Teas have some really neat tea blends that I hope will continue. With that said, there’s a kickstarter going on for the 52 Teas Great Take Over, by the lovely LiberTeas at the SororiTea sisters! Man, I hope this kickstarter gets funded, I want that Maple Cheesecake Tie Kwan Yin! Anyways, the teas I have today aren’t for sale at the moment, though you can wishlist and request them to be reblended, or pledge… Continue reading, hoot!

Chocolate Strawberry Puer from Lupicia – Oolong Owl Tea Review

Chocolate Strawberry Puer is a pu’er, chocolate and strawberry tea blend. This decadent dessert tea is from Lupicia. Chocolate Strawberry Puer has been on my tea bucket list for a long time! I don’t know why, but I kept passing it up or forgetting about it when I was visiting my local Lupicia. When I was in Hawaii, I snagged a bag of Chocolate Strawberry Puer at Lupicia’s Honolulu store. I’ve been wanting to explore pu’er blends, which have been popping up more and more these days, which also can be hit or miss. However, I have faith Chocolate & Strawberry Puer will be good, as… Continue reading, hoot!

SoHo Blend from Harney & Sons – Oolong Owl Tea Review

SoHo Blend is a chocolate and coconut chinese black tea blend from Harney & Sons, an US based tea company. Hurray, Harney & Sons! I did an order with them around Black Friday to snag some tea ware gifts and tins and while I was there I decided to get some tea samples. SoHo Blend has been on my wishlist for awhile, as I do love coconut teas. I quite like how Harney & Sons does samples, so for only $2  I can about 2 or 3 servings of tea to try out. Harney & Sons has pretty slick packaging on their samples. It attracted the gal… Continue reading, hoot!

Cocoa Creme Black Tea from Simple Loose Leaf – Oolong Owl Tea Review

Cocoa Creme Black Tea is a blend featuring south Indian Flower Orange Pekoe Black tea, ground coffee, cocoa and yogurt chips. This coffee lovers tea is sold by Simple Loose Leaf, online seller of tea in a subscription format. 2 years ago I was really into roasted mates and black teas that had a really robust flavor with hints of coffee. There was something about the super caffeine hit that helped me with moving and settling in here in California. I haven’t had a coffee flavored tea in awhile, so I thought I should give  Cocoa Creme Black Tea a try. Big fuzzy… Continue reading, hoot!

Turtle Cheesecake Black Tea from 52 Teas – Oolong Owl Tea Review

Turtle Cheesecake Black tea is a chocolate and pecan blend from 52 Teas / Zoomdweebies, an online seller of nerdy and unique teas. Turtle Cheesecake Black tea was Tea of the Week for September 2nd, 2013. Woot! Another Black Tea for Oolong Owl’s Black Tea Week! Turtles Chocolates remind me of Christmas time – it was a chocolate I’d get often as a gift, along with Terry’s Chocolate Oranges. I haven’t had turtles on cheesecake or tea, so I when this tea popped up for sale, I bought it immediately. Turtle Cheesecake Black tea also attracted a couple amigurumi turtles to help out with the… Continue reading, hoot!

Choco-Honeyberry tea from Steep City Teas – Oolong Owl Tea Review

Choco-Honeyberry is a black and blend that has rooibos, honeybush, honey pollen, chocolate pieces, marigolds, and safflowers. This unique blend is made by Steep City Teas. When Steep City Teas came out with Choco-Honeyberry I was intrigued. This blend is very unique with the use of honey pollen, chocolate and berry flavors. Bee pollen tea. I had a weird experience with bee pollen tea. I was at a chinese restaurant and I was sick. I was served a cup of tea that had a big fat bee floating in the middle. Actually tasted pretty sweet and interesting but was scary to… Continue reading, hoot!

Laoshan Black Chocolate Genmaicha from Verdant Tea – Tea Review

Laoshan Black Chocolate Genmaicha is a genmaicha blend from Verdant Tea. This blend features Verdant’s Laoshan Black, a little Shui Jin Gui Wuyi Oolong, hand crafted wild rice from Minnesota, and organic fair trade toasted jasmine rice. Oh, and organic cacao nibs. I really wanted to try Laoshan Black and this blend, but I was on a budget. So I opted to get an 1 oz of this blend, as I tend to drink more blends than straight unflavored teas. DRY LEAF: The tea smells like dark chocolate! Good dark chocolate, kinda like Lindt’s Dark Chocolate – Ohh yum, I love that… Continue reading, hoot!

Three Friends from Butiki Teas – Tea Review

Three Friends is a black tea with orange, chocolate and marshmallow flavoring. This tea is from Butiki Teas. Okay, I am slightly biased here. I love Terry’s Chocolate Oranges. I’m homesick for Canada and my family, so the smell and taste of chocolate oranges bring me back to spending time with my Dad. He always gave me a chocolate orange for Christmas. The first time I got one, I was insistent I break it myself – but I was a pretty weak of a kid. Heck, despite all my brazilian jiu jitsu, my upper body strength is kinda crap. Dad… Continue reading, hoot!
