Marmalade Puerh from California Tea House – Tea Review

Right before I moved out of SoCal, there was a tea tasting event that I wasn’t able to make. A tea buddy of mine did make it, and mentioned trying this Marmalade Puerh from California Tea House. Just the name alone of this tea and I had to have it! I don’t know why, but I always buy puer blends, despite majority of them are terrible mostly because puer just doesn’t western brew well. Dry Leaf Marmalade Puerh is HEAVY. The puerh used is heavy and the chunks in it are also heavy. This has got to be the most… Continue reading, hoot!

Sweet Carrots Green and Basil Lemonade Oolong from Pekoe Sip House – Tea Review

I’m in the mood for something fun. I’ve been drinking lots of unflavored blacks and pu’er these days, I could use some unique teas to inspire me. Pekoe Sip House is based in Boulder Colorado and they have cafe locations and a new online shop! Pekoe Sip House ethically sources their teas, composts at their cafes and donates to local communities and causes. However, what caught my eye is their tea selection – Pekoe Sip House has some really unique tea blends! Persimmon Gelato Rooibos! Green Fig Green tea! Jumpin Juniper White! Pekoe Sip House also has a good selection of… Continue reading, hoot!

Nina’s Paris Teas – Tea Review

November is a busy month for me, and turns out this year it has been busier than usual busy.  I am tackling (and failing at) NaNoWriMo, planning for Thanksgiving dinner, Christmas plans and I have a huge amount of commission work for Tea Owls. My tea drinking has become large tea pot + random black tea I need to drink down just to keep me going. With extra work, I’ve been at home all the time, missing all the sunny California fall weather. With the fall blues, I think it’s a good time to do some tea reviews of teas… Continue reading, hoot!

Earl Grey Premium from Ocean of Tea – Oolong Owl Tea Review

Today’s review is Ocean of Tea’s Earl Grey Premium. Ocean of Tea is an online loose leaf tea seller. I really felt like Earl Grey today. I made a batch of lemon curd for my mother in law but also made myself an extra jar. My lemon curd has been in my fridge for awhile. So, I made some scones to have with my lemon curd. Scones and lemon curd? I need some black tea, an Earl Grey, to go with these tasty treats! Dry Leaf The dry leaf of Earl Grey Premium is super fragrant bergamont, wowee! Like fresh grated… Continue reading, hoot!

Lemon French Macaron White Tea from Butiki Teas – Oolong Owl Tea Review

Lemon French Macaron White Tea is a white indian tea tea with almond slivers, amaranth, calendula and vegan organic natural flavoring. This tea is blended and sold by Butiki Teas, online tea seller in New Jersey, USA. I love lemon desserts – lemon pound cake, lemon bars, lemon cookies and lemon meringue pie! I haven’t had a lemon macaron though, but I imagine they are delicious! All the times I’ve had macarons I get suckered by crazy colours, so I’d get pistachio green or strawberry pink. There is an interesting story to Lemon French Macaron White Tea – Butiki Teas… Continue reading, hoot!

Tentacle Tea from Pelican Tea – Oolong Owl Tea Review

Tentacle Tea is a habanero-infused pu’er blended with meyer lemon, home toasted brown rice, cinnamon and mint. This tea is blended and sold by Pelican Tea, US based online tea seller. They habanero infused whites, greens, blacks, pu’ers and oolongs! Tea peeps, I love spicy food. If you see me eat a burrito, before each bite there’s a dash (or 3) of hot sauce. Citrus Sunshine Oolong from Steep City Teas – Oolong Owl Tea Review

Citrus Sunshine Oolong is an oolong tea blend with ginger, orange and lemon peels, cranberries, blueberries, rose petals and hibiscus. This sunny oolong blend is from Steep City Teas, Florida based tea seller. I’ve noticed I’ve been reviewing a lot of black teas. I did the Black Tea week, and continued reviewing even more black teas. Even though this Canadian living in California is laughing at the “cold” weather here, the “cold” weather is getting to me due to the short sunlight days and temperature drop in the evenings. I’ve seriously been bundling up at night! With that said, time to break… Continue reading, hoot!
