Very unique teas. 52 Teas have some really neat tea blends that I hope will continue. With that said, there’s a kickstarter going on for the 52 Teas Great Take Over, by the lovely LiberTeas at the SororiTea sisters! Man, I hope this kickstarter gets funded, I want that Maple Cheesecake Tie Kwan Yin! Anyways, the teas I have today aren’t for sale at the moment, though you can wishlist and request them to be reblended, or pledge… Continue reading, hoot!

Whispering Pines Tea’s Golden Orchid Tea – Tea Review

Vanilla is amazing! I buy my beans 1lb at a time and add to things as simple as Rice Crispy squares to make my treats extra special. I make my own vanilla extract out of various liquors, which gives great flavor to my cookies. Vanilla teas are awesome – and a real popular one is Whispering Pines Tea Co’s Golden Orchid tea. I kept hearing so much about it, I snagged an ounce not too long ago to see for myself. Golden Orchid tea is a blend of Dian Hong and Fujian Xiao Zhong Black Tea with Hand Cut Grade A Madagascar Vanilla… Continue reading, hoot!

Zen Tea Traders – Oolong Owl Tea Review

One of the first booths I encountered at the World Tea Expo 2014 was Zen Tea Traders, who were super nice. Zen Tea Traders has some interesting blends, as well as some solid classic unflavored teas. Today I have Earl Grey Tahitian Blend and Peachy Peony. The teas I’m sampling came in tea bags, but Zen Tea Traders sells the tea in loose leaf. We also have a guest Oolong Owl assistant – Amigurumi Critter Fox! Tasting of Zen Tea Traders’ Earl Grey Tahitian Blend Earl Grey Tahitian Blend dry leaf has a bergamont zesty goodness scent and interestingly I can also smell a sweet creamy finish. The steeping instructions… Continue reading, hoot!

Lemon French Macaron White Tea from Butiki Teas – Oolong Owl Tea Review

Lemon French Macaron White Tea is a white indian tea tea with almond slivers, amaranth, calendula and vegan organic natural flavoring. This tea is blended and sold by Butiki Teas, online tea seller in New Jersey, USA. I love lemon desserts – lemon pound cake, lemon bars, lemon cookies and lemon meringue pie! I haven’t had a lemon macaron though, but I imagine they are delicious! All the times I’ve had macarons I get suckered by crazy colours, so I’d get pistachio green or strawberry pink. There is an interesting story to Lemon French Macaron White Tea – Butiki Teas… Continue reading, hoot!

Pumpkin Milkshake 2.0 from Butiki Teas – Oolong Owl Tea Review

Pumpkin Milkshake 2.0 is a Doke Rolling Thunder Oolong with vegan pumpkin flakes, organic lotus stamens, organic vanilla beans and organic natural flavors. This unique tea blend is by Butiki Teas, online tea seller based in New Jersey. I recently received my small order from Butiki Teas, as I was unable to resist some of her new blends. My household loves pumpkin pie. In the event I have leftover pumpkin, I make pumpkin milkshakes, saving me calories. Even off pumpkin pie season, I do like a good pumpkin tea, DavidsTea’s Pumpkin Chai as a good standby. By the way, I try to… Continue reading, hoot!

Coconut Dream from New Mexico Tea Company – Oolong Owl Tea Review

Coconut Dream is an organic Korakundah estate black tea with coconut. This tea blend is from New Mexico Tea Company, an US tea seller. I’m in a tropical kind of mood. I think my head is still in vacation cruise mode as I snack on the treats I brought back from Hawaii. For some reason, I’m not getting sick of pineapple, coconut and macadamia nuts. It’s a sign! I should move to Hawaii! Hmm.. I wonder if there are Owls in Hawaii…. /google searches… ah ha, Pueo! Hoot! I wonder if they like tea? Anyways, let’s have some tea! Intern… Continue reading, hoot!

SoHo Blend from Harney & Sons – Oolong Owl Tea Review

SoHo Blend is a chocolate and coconut chinese black tea blend from Harney & Sons, an US based tea company. Hurray, Harney & Sons! I did an order with them around Black Friday to snag some tea ware gifts and tins and while I was there I decided to get some tea samples. SoHo Blend has been on my wishlist for awhile, as I do love coconut teas. I quite like how Harney & Sons does samples, so for only $2  I can about 2 or 3 servings of tea to try out. Harney & Sons has pretty slick packaging on their samples. It attracted the gal… Continue reading, hoot!

Sticky Toffee Black Tea from Whittard of Chelsea – Oolong Owl Tea Review

Sticky Toffee Black Tea is a black tea blend with macadamia nuts and flavoring. This decadent dessert tea is from Whittard of Chelsea, UK based tea company. Groan. Seriously. I’ve eaten so much sweets over the holidays. I entered 2014 overloaded with sweets and with so many sweets leftover. Peanut Brittle. Home made cookies. Butter Tarts, Cherry Pound Cake and Pumpkin Pie piled high with cool whip. (not pictured as we ate it all!) I think I’m about tired of sweet things, but at the same time I’m now so wired for sweets that I need to ween myself off… Continue reading, hoot!
