Banana Coconut from The Persimmon Tree – Tea Review

Banana Coconut is a caffeine free herbal/rooibos blend of chamomile, coconut and banana. This tea comes from The Persimmon Tree, a great online loose leaf tea seller. (FYI, this tea was previously called Banana Dulce and went through a recent name change, hence why my tin has the old name on it. It is still the same blend!) I need more caffeine free teas in my life. Unfortunately, I’m not huge on rooibos or chamomile – which is often used for caffeine free blends. Regardless, I still order teas with rooibos or chamomile as I’ll try about anything and I don’t want… Continue reading, hoot!

Creamy Eggnog from Butiki Teas – Tea Review

Creamy Eggnog is a green tea with creamy eggnog flavors. This tea comes from Butiki Teas, an amazing online loose leaf tea seller! Creamy eggnog? Yes, I’m taking about an eggnog tea. Yeah, it’s past christmas – I’m a little late on drinking this. DRY LEAF: Good looking green tea, accented with a little red. Actually this tea come with more red bits, but they were mostly at the bottom of the bag, which I didn’t realized until after I took my pictures! STEEPED: Gold colour tea with creamy sweet smells swirling out of my cup! TASTE: WHAT KIND OF… Continue reading, hoot!

Coconut Grove from Steep City Teas – Tea Review

Coconut Grove is a Pai mu tan white tea accented with rose and coconut flavoring. This tea is from Steep City Teas, a new online seller of loose leaf teas, based in Miami. Hmm. Pai Mu Tan? Please correct me if I’m wrong – but I’m guessing that’s Bai Mu Dan? I’m guessing as I’m learning to speak Korean, and if Mandarin is similar, the romanization of sounds “B” and “P”, “D” and “T” and “G” and “K” get mixed up all the time. I find the flipping of the romanization makes learning from multiple sources painful and confusing at time. Ugg,… Continue reading, hoot!

Vanilla Orchid from DavidsTEA – Tea Review

Vanilla Orchid is a huang jin gui oolong flavored with vanilla. This tea is from DavidsTEA, an online loose leaf tea seller. What a morning! I have so many teas to try. I have a “try me” tupperware full of tea with more on the way. I recently did another DavidsTEA review, but the blue packaging and promise of creamy tea screamed at me to try it. I tried to talk myself out of it – I have a couple fun fruity blends and pu-erhs waiting, but no – Vanilla Orchid won. DRY LEAF: Tight lumps of dark green oolong.… Continue reading, hoot!

Momoko by Lupicia – Tea Review

Momoko is a green tea that features peach and vanilla flavors. This tea is sold by Lupicia and comes in bagged or loose leaf forms. Very lovely packaging! DRY LEAF: Oh wow! DROOOOL! Creamy sweet peachyness! The smell reminds me of those japanese peach gummies! I spent awhile smelling this tea. Up close, the tea has little pink flowers buds and teeny rock sugar bits. STEEPED: Momoko comes out a bright green yellow with a green buttery scent. I steeped this tea with boiling water for 1.45 minutes. TASTE: Momoko is surprisingly very creamy. This tea tastes like good fresh matcha,… Continue reading, hoot!
