More A Quarter to Tea teas! Not too long ago I was sent four teas. I reviewed the more autumn teas eariler and here is the rest. Let’s get to it! Spumoni Green Tea YES SPUMONI! I’ve suggested to many tea sellers to make a spumoni tea. Spumoni is one of my favorite ice creams. There is a restuarant I regularly went to in Vancouver, The Spaghetti Factory, and the end of every meal is the delicious spumoni ice cream. Spumoni seems to vary, but usually it is pistachio with a mix of usually chocolate, vanilla or cherry. A Quarter to Tea’s … Continue reading, hoot!
Today’s tea review are teas from A Quarter to Tea, an online etsy shop. Admittedly, I got a soft spot for etsy sellers, since I am one myself as I sell crochet critters and patterns. I have four A Quarter to Tea teas and I’ll be reviewing two today, and the other two soon. For today’s review I selected fall themed teas. Little Orange Tea Owl is here in a pretty simple Halloween costume. Apple Almond Spice Cake Black Tea This black tea blend is a limited edition! The dry leaf is organic nilgiri black tea, hojicha, chicory, clover and chunky almonds, shattered cinnamon sticks … Continue reading, hoot!
Today’s review is 52 Teas’ Maple Cheesecake Tie Guan Yin – everything about this flavored tea sounds amazing! I got this tea with the last 52 Teas kickstarter, which was the one for the 52 Teas management change. I’m pretty happy so far as Anne has been using more interesting tea bases. 52 Teas has a new kickstarter for the Christmas teas and they all look amazing. One caught my eye the most is “Peppermint Marshmallow Melting in Hot Chocolate” as it uses a Verdant Tea as a black tea base (OMG YES). If that tea blend doesn’t catch your eye, Gingerbread … Continue reading, hoot!
There is a 52 Teas Kickstarter going on right now and it’s going to fund! Only a few days left! If you love tea blends you really need to check out The 52Teas Reboot Kickstarter! Let’s get’em stretch goals! I’m really excited for Lime Jello Salad Green tea and that Maple Cheesecake Tie Guan Yin! I’ve done a number of 52Teas reviews, all really fun blends. A trend I noticed, even though the flavors can be adventurous, the tea is still the center piece. They release a new tea blend every week, occasionally reblending some. I always recommend getting on the … Continue reading, hoot!
I have a couple really good looking flavored tea blends that I’ve been meaning to open and sample. S’mores Chai and Tiramisu Oolong! Very unique teas. 52 Teas have some really neat tea blends that I hope will continue. With that said, there’s a kickstarter going on for the 52 Teas Great Take Over, by the lovely LiberTeas at the SororiTea sisters! Man, I hope this kickstarter gets funded, I want that Maple Cheesecake Tie Kwan Yin! Anyways, the teas I have today aren’t for sale at the moment, though you can wishlist and request them to be reblended, or pledge … Continue reading, hoot!
Country Breakfast Tea is a black tea with maple syrup, lapsang souchong, maple hickory smoked bacon jerky and chai spices – ginger, cardamon, cinnamon, coriander, cloves and black pepper. This wildly creative tea blend is from TeaFolks, tea seller based in Las Vegas, Nevada. Their teas can be purchased online. First off, this tea has REAL BACON in it. This tea is not vegetarian! I’ve had bacon teas in the past, Maple Bacon Iced Tea from Southern Boy/ Zoomdweebies which has bacon flavors or imitation bacon in it but not the real stuff. I didn’t think real bacon tea could even … Continue reading, hoot!
Lemon French Macaron White Tea is a white indian tea tea with almond slivers, amaranth, calendula and vegan organic natural flavoring. This tea is blended and sold by Butiki Teas, online tea seller in New Jersey, USA. I love lemon desserts – lemon pound cake, lemon bars, lemon cookies and lemon meringue pie! I haven’t had a lemon macaron though, but I imagine they are delicious! All the times I’ve had macarons I get suckered by crazy colours, so I’d get pistachio green or strawberry pink. There is an interesting story to Lemon French Macaron White Tea – Butiki Teas … Continue reading, hoot!
It’s time to review more Marshmallow Treat Genmaicha Teas! 52 Teas / Zoomdweebies‘ Strawberry Marshmallow Treat Genmaicha and Peanut Butter Marshmallow Treat Genmaicha! I’ve previously reviewed S’mores Genmaicha and I also own the regular Marshmallow Treat Genmaicha. Both are excellent teas. I was happy to see 52 Teas came out with Strawberry Marshmallow Treat Genmaicha and Peanut Butter Marshmallow Treat Genmaicha. I make some killer rice crispy treats. My secret is extra marshmallows, a generous splash of homemade vanilla extract (made with brandy) or sometimes a whole vanilla bean pod scraped in. My favorite variation of rice crispy treats is to add caramel squares or … Continue reading, hoot!
Ruby Pie is a khongea golden tippy assam black with vegan chocolate chip bunny grahams, cinnamon chips, freeze dried strawberries, and hibiscus. This fun, strawberry rhubarb pie tea blend is sold by Butiki Teas, an Oolong Owl favorite US online tea seller. Shout out to Sarah for winning – this blend was a custom blend concept that won Butiki Teas‘ Custom Blend contest back in 2012. Man, I wish my blend won, but hey, all the ideas looked really good so really whatever won and was up for sale on the site was going be good no matter what! To … Continue reading, hoot!
Sticky Toffee Black Tea is a black tea blend with macadamia nuts and flavoring. This decadent dessert tea is from Whittard of Chelsea, UK based tea company. Groan. Seriously. I’ve eaten so much sweets over the holidays. I entered 2014 overloaded with sweets and with so many sweets leftover. Peanut Brittle. Home made cookies. Butter Tarts, Cherry Pound Cake and Pumpkin Pie piled high with cool whip. (not pictured as we ate it all!) I think I’m about tired of sweet things, but at the same time I’m now so wired for sweets that I need to ween myself off … Continue reading, hoot!
