Blushing Geisha from Steep City Teas – Tea Review

Blushing Geisha is a hibiscus floral green tea blend from Steep City Teas, one of my favorite online tea sellers. This tea caught my eye right away, but I was a little leery of it. It was expected, from the name, the tea would be red and hibiscusy. Many of us tea drinkers have been terrorized by over hibiscus – vibrant red tea that tastes so tart your throat has a spaz, and that was supposed to be “strawberry tea”? However, after having some of Steep City Teas stuff, I figure it had to be good. DRY LEAF: I opened the package, closed my eyes… Continue reading, hoot!

A Rabbits Garden from Della Terra Teas – Tea Review

A Rabbit’s Garden is a green tea blend featuring peas, corn, peaches, carrots and lemongrass. This very unique tea is from Della Terra Teas. When I saw the description for this tea I had to get it. What the??? PEAS? CORN? SIGN ME UP! Though I’m sure there’s some of you out there immediately would pass on this tea. I own a rabbit. As soon as I moved to… Continue reading, hoot!

S’mores Genmaicha from 52 Teas – Tea Review

S’mores Genmaicha is a chocolate and marshmallow green tea blend from 52 Teas, an online tea seller that comes up with fun new blends each week. Okay my tea peeps. I feel bad. This tea sold out but I’m still reviewing it. Hey, I bet it’ll get blended again hopefully. If it doesn’t I’m sure we’ll campaign and wishlist it until it does. As soon as I saw 52 Tea tweets that it was up, I bought myself a package without blinking an eye. When 52 Teas comes out with a tea you know you’ll like you buy it ASAP. If… Continue reading, hoot!

Agua di Jamaica from Steep City Teas – Tea Review

Agua di Jamaica  is a fruit green tea blend from the delicious Steep City Teas! I heard that this is one of Steep City Teas popular teas. I’ve never heard of Agua di Jamaica – yay wikipedia! Yowza, that sounds pretty hibiscusy tart of a drink! I’m glad Steep City loaded this tea with lots of berries! DRY LEAF: Luscious, tangy fruity citrus smell! Very interesting appearance with the tightly curled green tea leaves, bright flower bits and fruit! Loads of big hunky fruits. Gyokuro Kin from Den’s Tea – Tea Review

Gyokuro Kin is a top grade japanese tea from Den’s Tea, a Japanese green tea seller. This is my first time trying Gyokuro! I got this tea as a sample. But seriously, I don’t think I’d buy it just to try it. At this time, it’s $14 for 2 oz.  Den’s Tea also sells a more expensive gyokuro, Gyokuro Suimei at $23 for 2 oz. With that said, I’m very happy to have a sample of this tea! I was terrified I’d mess up steeping this tea and ending up with an expensive teeny cup of bitter hell. I’ll do my best! DRY LEAF:… Continue reading, hoot!

Green Tea Leaf Rice Recipe

Adapted from a recipe by Zojirushi Do you do lots of cold steeps? Wanna reuse your leaves other than the compost bin? This fragrant green tea rice recipe uses steeped green tea leaves, perfect for tea lovers! This recipe can change flavors depending on what green tea you use. Grassy green… Continue reading, hoot!

Houji-genmaicha from Den’s Tea – Tea Review

Houji-genmaicha is a roasted green and rice tea from Den’s Tea, an online seller of Japanese green teas. DRY LEAF: Houji-genmaicha smells like roasted corn – kinda like the leftover overly brown kernels in an air popper. STEEPED: An interesting light brown and peachy coloured tea. It’s a little hard to see as I used a green cup verses something more functional to show the colour off. The smell of this tea is very roasted and strong. For the  steeping, I followed the directions on the tea package – 30 second steep in boiling water and resteep for 15 seconds in boiling water.… Continue reading, hoot!

Creamy Eggnog is a green tea with creamy eggnog flavors. This tea comes from Butiki Teas, an amazing online loose leaf tea seller! Creamy eggnog? Yes, I’m taking about an eggnog tea. Yeah, it’s past christmas – I’m a little late on drinking this. DRY LEAF: Good looking green tea, accented with a little red. Actually this tea come with more red bits, but they were mostly at the bottom of the bag, which I didn’t realized until after I took my pictures! STEEPED: Gold colour tea with creamy sweet smells swirling out of my cup! TASTE: WHAT KIND OF… Continue reading, hoot!
