Golden Honeydew Rooibos from Lupicia – Tea Review

Today’s tea review is a popular tea from Lupicia – Golden Honeydew rooibos! Golden Honeydew is a California honeydew melon scented, green rooibos tea with marigold petals. I believe this tea is a San Francisco exclusive tea, as it was available for us non San Fran folk online only during special promotions. However, at the time of writing this, it is available without mention of it being limited time availability. I heard from many people this is one of the best Lupicia teas, so I had purchased it with my last Lupicia order. My Golden Honeydew rooibos came in the special … Continue reading, hoot!

52 Teas 2015 Holiday Teas – Tea Review

52 Teas had a Holiday tea kickstarter a few months back and I was able to preorder for the entire set! All the teas sounded pretty good – Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire, Eggnog Chai, Gingerbread Houjicha, Cranberry Orange Cider Rooibos, and Peppermint Marshmallow Melting in Hot Chocolate. It looks like you can still purchase the teas at 52 Teas from their Holiday Tea section, but you’ll want to act fast as they are seasonal teas. I wasn’t in a Christmas mood until this week, so now I finally got around to sampling the entire lineup (barring I drank 2 of … Continue reading, hoot!

Tea powder time! With matcha being the popular drink these days, we should also try other powdered teas. Chi Whole Leaf has a line up 5 different teas! I’ll be trying 3 of the 5 today, so let’s get to it. Tasting of Chi Whole Leaf Tea Powder Green mint Green Mint has a medicinal and mint scent. This tea powder contains Peppermint, Eucalyptus Leaf and Darjeeling Green tea. I was lazy so I used my DavidsTea Matcha Maker Tea Tumbler. I mixed the Green Mint tea with water and ice. It came out a deep dark army green. The flavor is … Continue reading, hoot!

Aloha Girl Tea from Tea Xotics – Oolong Owl Tea Review

I was introduced to Tea Xotics at the World Tea Expo this year.  Tea Xotics is an online tea seller (and Tea House) based in Shingle Springs, California. I love the packing their teas – the graphics are pretty and there is something about white packaging on tea that makes it inviting, clean and a change of pace. Tea Xotics has many really cool tea blends in their tea line up. The tea we’ll be checking out today is Aloha Girl Tea, a rooibos and honeybush tea blend with island fruits such as pineapple and ginger. Flirt with Me from Steep City Teas – Oolong Owl Tea Review

Flirt With Me is a green rooibos tea blended with mango, papaya, orange, passion fruit pieces and rose petals. This exotic fruity blend is from Steep City Teas, Florida based tea seller. Yay, a caffeine free tea! I’ve been dropping the ball on reviewing rooibos and herbals these days – I always want to drink these teas at night, but I run into lighting issues for blog photos. Steep City Teas has some great teas (if you follow my blog for awhile, I have a love affair with Steep City Teas’ Blushing Geisha), so I’m excited to review another of their teas! … Continue reading, hoot!

Choco-Honeyberry tea from Steep City Teas – Oolong Owl Tea Review

Choco-Honeyberry is a black and blend that has rooibos, honeybush, honey pollen, chocolate pieces, marigolds, and safflowers. This unique blend is made by Steep City Teas. When Steep City Teas came out with Choco-Honeyberry I was intrigued. This blend is very unique with the use of honey pollen, chocolate and berry flavors. Bee pollen tea. I had a weird experience with bee pollen tea. I was at a chinese restaurant and I was sick. I was served a cup of tea that had a big fat bee floating in the middle. Actually tasted pretty sweet and interesting but was scary to … Continue reading, hoot!

Rhubarb + Custard from Bluebird Tea Co. – Tea Review

Rhubarb + Custard is a red rooibos blend tea. This funky tea blend is from Bluebird Tea Co.   I love rhubarb! I’m very happy that rhubarb is back in season. My husband waited months and months for rhubarb to come in season, and I immediately made him 2 pies that he ate on his own. Sadly, it seems our local stores rhubarb is pretty sad looking nor could I grow it where I live now, thus rhubarb is a special treat. When I saw Bluebird Tea Co. had Rhubarb + Custard, I was like “OMG MUST BUY” even though this tea … Continue reading, hoot!
