Vanilla Oolong Duo from Traveling Tea and Midwest Tea Festival

So there is tea festivals on the East Coast, and for us on the West Coast we have the Los Angeles International Tea Festival, how about the Midwest?

June 6th 2015 is the first Midwest Tea Festival in Kansas City and the tea vendor line up looks great, along with the tastings and tea workshop sessions. Oooo Oolong and Pu’er workshop, I wish I could go!

Anyways, today I’m reviewing Vanilla Oolong Duo from Traveling Tea, a tea vendor that will be at the Midwest Tea Festival.

Dry Leaf

Vanilla Oolong Duo has an interesting appearance of brown oolong leaf blended with a contrast of green and light olive white tea leaf. The dry leaf smells like sweet vanilla syrup.

Steeping Instructions

I followed the steeping instructions on the sample package, 185F for 4 mins. My cup came out dark golden with a vanilla ice cream scent.

Tasting of Vanilla Oolong Duo from Traveling Tea

Very sweet! Vanilla Oolong Duo base is a buttery green oolong flavor with a hint of floral. The blend also has white tea elements with a little linen notes and juicy. The main flavor is the vanilla, which is sweet and reminds me of vanilla frosting! The texture in this tea is quite creamy too! I find this oolong white blend pretty sweet and should not require sugar if you are the type who likes to add additional sugar.

Comments

Dessert tea, vanilla and sweet tooths need to try Traveling Tea‘s Vanilla Oolong Duo. I found this tea the sweeter of the vanilla oolongs I’ve tried and I don’t remember ever having an oolong white blend.

If you are in the area, be sure to swing by the Midwest Tea Festival in Kansas City!
