Zheng Si Long 2018 Xiang Chun Lin Sheng Puer from Tea Encounter

My sample of Tea Encounter’s Zheng Si Long 2018 Xiang Chun Lin has been in my stash for almost 2 years as it was buried by my insane collection. This sheng puer spring gushu old tree material from the Yiwu area.

Leaf and Steeping Method

2018 Xiang Chun Lin’s leaves have a honey sappy scent.

After an infusion, the leaves smell of honey and steamed leafy greens with a shot of floral perfume.

Tasting of Tea Encounter’s Zheng Si Long 2018 Xiang Chun Lin Sheng Puer

First and Second Infusion: 2018 Xiang Chun Lin has a densely thick texture, like drinking cotton batting, leaving a silky feeling in the mouth. The flavor is clover honey with a long floral orchid fragrance. There is a bit of astringency to tickle the throat, but also provides a primer for the floral to stick. Quickly, this tea makes an incredibly long lingering floral aftertaste.

Third, Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Infusion: The more I drink 2018 Xiang Chun Lin, the more heavily floral it becomes – it is like drinking fresh perfume over honey. The oolong drinker in me is drooling over the perfume level here. The texture is switching to a bit sticky, also adding salivation, so maybe it’s not just the oolong lust here.

Seventh, Eighth, Ninth, Tenth, and Eleventh Infusion: The flavor has switched to a green pepper bitter vegetal before the floral aftertaste steps in. The astringency grows here, drying the back of my throat. This floral aftertaste is so strong, I feel I can skip brushing my teeth as my mouth is saturated in good smells. As this tea goes on, it gets more stewy bitter, like green pepper skins and boiled arugula as it fades. The floral aftertaste is replaced with the bitterness in the endo. My stomach is also twisting for tacos.
