Comparing Silver Teapot to Silver Teacup and Regular Teaware

From my previous experiments, I found silver teaware produces an effect to change the taste of tea, especially with sheng, black, and funky teas. Silver cuts down the bitterness and other harsh elements such as over roasting, funky storage. The effect also works with silver-lined teacups. Silver teapots are expensive, usually at least $300, but a silver teacup is priced around $50 (sometimes as low as $20). That said, we are going to compare a silver pot to a silver cup and why not mix it up with silver on silver action too. Comparison Tasting Method I am using a… Continue reading, hoot!

Replacement Ruyao Gaiwan and Crack Stains

Long time readers likely notice I tend to use the same Teaware.House Ruyao gaiwan for my reviews, which I bought it back in February 2016. I quite like the gaiwan’s heat retention, which I find pushes my teas harder, plus the wide bowl makes viewing the leaves easier. I also try to have my tea reviews neutral, so I prefer a ceremic gaiwan over tea pots, so readers can replicate easier, whereas years of clay seasoning isn’t replicated. Anyways, the White Ruyao Gaiwan served me well for over a year. I managed to crack the lid on my favorite gaiwan and the lip of another around May.… Continue reading, hoot!

Dark Texture Silver Tea Cup from Crimson Lotus Tea

Within 30 minutes of Crimson Lotus Tea notifying social media, I swooped in on their new Dark Texture Silver tea cup. They only had a couple cups locally, so I had it in my hands the next day instead of waiting for shipping from China. This cup is 50ml, lined with silver. I jumped on this cup over the others as I really like the flare shape, as I find it has a natural placement for the fingers. I am also on a strange Star Wars kick since January, so the dark colour with the light streaks, combined with silver reflecting glowing… Continue reading, hoot!

The Wall Tea Infuser from Boreal Wildcraft

I first encountered The Wall Tea Infuser at the World Tea Expo. I walked by and saw it on display. I thought, “What crap, it is only for right-handed people.” The Boreal Wildcraft guys promptly told me, “We do carry a left handed one, and oddly it sells just as well as the right handed ones, despite left handers are only like 10% of the population.” Then they showed me the left handed model. To be honest, at that point I bought a left handed one without a second thought. I did not care how good the tea infuser was or… Continue reading, hoot!

Going Gongfu Tea Set from The Tea Spot

I got a preview of The Tea Spot‘s Going Gongfu Tea Set at the 2016 World Tea Expo… and was told to keep it a secret until launch. Big PO Box Teaware haul for June 2016

Instead of flooding my Oolong Owl Instagram account of many pictures of this tea ware haul, I decided to post it here. I tend to post most of my tea mail on Instagram, however since I’ve been using a PO Box due to the move, I come back with a big bag full of packages. I get so many packages at the PO Box, the lady that works there knows my name just after 2 visits. First up, Crimson Lotus Tea. They are in China at the moment, but if you watch their social media they will post new products… Continue reading, hoot!

Yet another Teaware.house raid feat. White Ruyao Gaiwan

I had a Teaware.House order come last month, then I got caught up busy with the mediation of the Tea Owl union moving to becoming a Parliament, so some of these pieces of sneaked into Oolong Owl reviews. Teaware.House has many really nice tea ware pieces and the pricing is really fair. The quality is quite good too, better than many of the rando cheap tea ware I buy off aliexpress. Teaware.House Cups I can easily be persuaded to buy a tea cup, especially pretty ones that cost under $10. It’s for photos and Tea Owls to sit in! That said, I need lots… Continue reading, hoot!

Teaware.House Teaware Review

White2Tea recently opened a new shop, which specializes in teaware – Teaware.House. White2tea does sell some teaware pieces, but Teaware.House expands the beautiful tea ware offerings to “your wallet will weep” mode. There are so many really nice tea ware items, from tea pots, cups, and gaiwans, it is hard to stay in your tea ware budget! Anyways, I got three items from Teaware.House for review (OMG YES!) and more on the way since I went into a buying frenzy after this package arrived. Unboxing of Teaware.House You all know I like to tease you, here’s the box. Boxes within boxes with lots of… Continue reading, hoot!

Yet Another Daiso Teaware Haul

Yet another Daiso teaware haul. Officially, I found two (one and two) other hauls I posted about, but since then I’ve done numerous Daiso trips and there’s probably some buried in other haul posts or I had just posted them on Instagram. Anyways, if you don’t know Daiso is a Japanese Dollar store chain that is sprouting up stores in North America (yay!). I discovered they opened yet another location near me and this one a pretty quick drive for me and near things I need to drive to – a blessing and a curse! Daiso a weird selection of… Continue reading, hoot!

Because you can never have too many rice pattern gaiwans and tea cups

Just keep me away from ebay and aliexpress – I keep finding these pretty gaiwans, tea cups and tea pets (I also find really weird stuff, but that’s another topic). I guess the good thing is as I downsize my tea stash, I’m creating more room for the tea ware. The Haul: The first item I purchased was the cups off aliexpress. I was inspired to get a rice pattern cup off Verdant Tea, who had some for a nice price, however I wanted a cup with more colour on it. I found these off aliexpress, which were a nice price,… Continue reading, hoot!
