I saw a bonsai catalog before Christmas and fell in love with the idea of having a bonsai tree next to my tea table. I enjoyed when I had flowers at my tea table (until they died). I also had some bulbs that bloomed, which looked amazing until they died. I am pretty bad with plants, despite being enthusiastic about owning many of them. In a rush to use all my dental insurance, as well as having a broken tooth, I got a whole slew of dental work done at the end of 2017. Every week I was going in for a new section of fillings or sealants to be placed. What I found was weird (besides me reacting badly each time to numbing shots) is how dental work affected taste. For all of October and November, I’ve been mostly DIY’ing my kitchen and flooring. I’ve spent most October demolishing and prepping everything for flooring and cabinets. November will be laying down flooring, building cabinets, installing countertops and applicances. The Tea Owls love DIY! Owl hardwood floor inspection. That is some nice maple. We took down a wall in the room. The Tea Owls were crawling up in attics. Ceiling Owl confirmed the wall that was there was not structural. I was on my evening walk with my husband and I saw a falling meteor. My husband joked that I should make a wish. I said, “You think this is Animal Crossing, and I’ll get a coffee table in the mail tomorrow?” Earlier that day I was thinking about how I wanted to relocate my tea drinking to another room. What I have been finding interesting is that I make tea differently for when I drink to write for Oolong Owl compared to my everyday drinking. Maybe you have noticed it? I own and post photos of tea pots, yet more often you see me using a gaiwan on my blog for tea reviews. I think the big thing comes down to how I approach Oolong Owl. What I really want to do as a blogger is present tea neutrally made and for you to be able to replicate it. I’ve been MIA lately due to recovering from surgery. When I expect to be MIA, I get some blog posts scheduled, but I had 3 days notice for my surgery so I didn’t have much time to prepare.
