Sunday Tea Hoots 7 – Matcha Ranting

I recently finished doing some matcha tasting work. Matcha has been on my mind a lot as matcha is the big trend now. Tea companies are pushing it, adding weird flavors it it (cheese pizza matcha yo), and selling it as magical cure to all your problems. I’ve been reviewing it and tea companies that aren’t exclusive matcha sellers are scratching their heads wondering if there matcha is any good and scrambling to find better. I’ve drank so much matcha this year that it is simply crazy and potentially damaging to my body. I also been drinking so much matcha I still… Continue reading, hoot!

Sunday Tea Hoots 6 – Cruisin’ to Alaska

If you caught my Drink Militia Interview, I mentioned I have been DYING to go on a cruise. I’ve been putting off booking one for awhile since I had some green card stuff I had to deal with. So I had to wait to book anything until I got my green card extension and fingerprinting appointment taken care of. Now that I did my appointment and now sitting around waiting for mail, I can go on a cruise! I right away booked a cruise to Alaska for the end of August! YES! I will also be back home in Vancouver for a few days. I’ve… Continue reading, hoot!

Sunday Tea Hoots 5 – Daiso Green Tea Food Haul!

I love Daiso! I’ve purchased a number of cute little tea pots and cups for cheap. Daiso is a Japanese Dollar store. I first encountered them years ago in Richmond, BC, near Vancouver. I was very happy to learn when I moved to SoCal they opened Daiso stores and they are spreading like wild fire – I got 2 stores close to me! I crashed a new one that opened nearby and they had a special display of different green tea and matcha foods. Green Tea Pastry Roll Weird warnings on package. The warnings did not lie, the pastry smelled a… Continue reading, hoot!

Sunday Tea Hoots 4 – Weird Teaware Finds of ebay

Last Friday while eating my lunch I was looking through ebay and showing off my finds to Chatzy tea friends and twitter. Oh man did I find weird stuff! I imagine not all of you readers are on twitter, and these tea ware finds were just too crazy to not see! I’ll link everything I found just in case someone really wants to get it. Items linked July 2015. Tea Pets If you get deep into the bowels of ebay and aliexpress looking at tea pets, you’ll find quite a few NSFW ones. I won’t link those. Even deeper into the bowels,… Continue reading, hoot!

Sunday Tea Hoots 3 – Being a Canadian Tea Drinker in the US

With it recently being Canada Day (July 1st) and living in the US, I was thinking what it was like being a Canadian Tea Drinker. There’s a sort of pride in being a Canadian Tea drinker and being set apart from our North American neighbour. Before my obsessive tea drinking days begun – I had heard that tea sold in Canada was better quality as 1. We get the British stuff and 2. Canadians will not drink crappy tea. I googled around for proof. Right off the bat the two big tea bag brands – Red Rose and Tetley pop up… Continue reading, hoot!

Sunday Tea Hoots 2 – Dad

I had something else planned to post for Oolong Owl’s Sunday Tea Hoots but then realized it was Father’s Day today. Plus June 21 is also my Dad’s birthday. Poor guy, often Father’s Day is in the June 20s so he gets stuck with the same double duty gift! I don’t think my dad really reads Oolong Owl, but that is okay he has an excuse. My dad is legally blind so he’s not that computer friendly. He can somewhat get by with a iPad, mostly for email, taking photos, playing games and watching videos I send him. (You want to… Continue reading, hoot!

Sunday Tea Hoots 1 – Tea Drunk Yoga

Welcome to the first installment of Oolong Owl’s “Sunday Tea Hoots”. Sunday Tea Hoots is about Oolong Owl life randomness related to tea! Tea Drunk Yoga I’ve been dabbling in Yoga on and off for years. This year I’ve been really pushing to re-composition my body as married life has led me to enjoy baking and eating a little too much. I am doing a bunch of stuff with success, but that could be another Sunday Tea Hoot. To do a bit more, I decided to do Yoga more regularly. I’m on a 30 day yoga challenge, which I’ve almost completed (eehhh… Continue reading, hoot!
