Choco-Honeyberry is a black and blend that has rooibos, honeybush, honey pollen, chocolate pieces, marigolds, and safflowers. This unique blend is made by Steep City Teas.
When Steep City Teas came out with Choco-Honeyberry I was intrigued. This blend is very unique with the use of honey pollen, chocolate and berry flavors. Bee pollen tea. I had a weird experience with bee pollen tea. I was at a chinese restaurant and I was sick. I was served a cup of tea that had a big fat bee floating in the middle. Actually tasted pretty sweet and interesting but was scary to drink.
Thankfully, there are no bees in Choco-Honeyberry! Yum, chocolate!
Dry Leaf
The scent of Choco-Honeyberry is delicious! There is a candy berry smell mixed with honey and chocolate.
Generous amount of chocolate chips in the dry leaf! It is like a confetti of dark leaf, brown-orange rooibos sticks with orange and yellow petals.

Steeping Instructions
The packaging on Choco-Honeyberry suggests steeping this tea at 212f for 4 minutes. I used my gravity steeper to infuse my tea.
Choco-Honeyberry comes out a woody colour that is cloudy with a little film on top. I’m guessing the film is from the mass amount of chocolate that has melted into the tea.
Taste
Choco-Honeyberry sips in a robust, strong earthy, slightly woody black tea that quickly becomes very smooth and creamy with a milk chocolate flavor. The creamy chocolate coats the mouth adding a thick creamy sensation, as if the milk chocolate is melting in my mouth. End of sip the tea sweetens with a mystery fruit like quality mixed with honey sweetness. There is no bitterness or dryness in the tea.
Sweetened: It was very tempting to add honey to sweeten this tea. Instead, I added a little german rock sugar to my cup of Choco-Honeyberry and discovered the flavor changed quite a bit!
The black base takes a step back, melting into the background. The fruity flavor becomes the main attraction throughout the sip, finishing off with the melty milk chocolate. The fruity flavor is a little easier to pick out now, I’m thinking it is a raspberry berry mix. I prefer Choco-Honeyberry unsweetened as the creamy chocolate flavors go better with the black earthy base as a stronger element.
Comments
Choco-Honeyberry is a very interesting tea! I really love the combination of the black tea base, super creamy chocolate with that berry finish. I definitely felt more energetic after drinking this tea!
Thinking about this tea, it quite reminds me of a Cadbury Fruit and Nut chocolate bar, sans nuts and with more fruit. Very tasty! Either way, chocolate tea fans looking for a unique chocolate tea that will give you lots of pep, be sure to check out Steep City Teas Choco-Honeyberry!
Bonus:
I had to stop Mintea the Owl from stealing the chocolate pieces!
