Flirt With Me is a green rooibos tea blended with mango, papaya, orange, passion fruit pieces and rose petals. This exotic fruity blend is from Steep City Teas, Florida based tea seller.
Yay, a caffeine free tea! I’ve been dropping the ball on reviewing rooibos and herbals these days – I always want to drink these teas at night, but I run into lighting issues for blog photos. Steep City Teas has some great teas (if you follow my blog for awhile, I have a love affair with Steep City Teas’ Blushing Geisha), so I’m excited to review another of their teas!
Dry Leaf
Flirt With Me has a Hawaiian fruit punch with a bit of floral kind of scent. The dry leaf here is a confetti of green rooibos greens, whites, chunky fruits and the odd rose petal.
Steeping Instructions
I followed the tea package instructions, so I steeped Flirt With Me with boiling water for 5 minutes.
After 5 minutes, I had a pretty golden peachy cup of tea that smelled like tropical paradise!
Tasting of Steep City Teas’ Flirt With Me
Flirt With Me sips in with a moderate flavor intensity with lots of fruityness going on. Plenty of mango and papaya – the papaya being not over the top. Some sips I feel the fruits blend together, tasting a bit of peach as well. Mid sip I can taste the green rooibos – a brothy light woodyness. Overall, the blend is on the watery side, but that is a common element in rooibos blends.
Sweetened: Let’s bring out the fruit flavors! Sweetented, Flirt With Me is much more fruity. I’m tasting the passion fruit and papaya more, but I’m thinking this needs to be iced.
Iced: Maybe I should of started with Flirt With Me iced? This is where this tea shines! I leafed heavier here, 3 teaspoons of dry leaf for a pint jar of iced tea.
Sips in really fruity (of course) – big mix of mango-papaya blur at first. Mid sip, lots of passion fruit taste blended with the brothy green rooibos. I don’t taste much of the floral flavor, I am guessing it is blended in with the fruityness. Very tasty iced – for future cups of Flirt With Me I will be making iced.
