My father, who lives near a DAVIDsTea store in Vancouver Canada, purchased this Glass Perfect Tea Mug for me. Hurray for having a Canadian tea mule! I own DAVIDsTea Bubble Tea pot, which is quite nice and their Steeper, which is also a solid product, however I never tried their Perfect Tea Mugs.

The Glass Perfect Tea Mug I picked out was a seasonal one, I think 2013 Spring – Glass Peacock design.

The Glass Perfect Tea Mug is a 3 piece set: Mug, Tea Strainer and lid.
As usual, David’s Perfect Infuser is a very nice device. The filter is stainless steel with teenyteeny holes. The filter is a nice big size for expanding loose leaf tea leaves.

The strainer and lid fit nicely ontop of the mug. The lid does a nice job keeping the tea hot while it steeps.
The lid is double walled and is just slightly warm to the touch to remove. I was actually kind of worried the lid would be piping hot, good design DAVIDsTea!
Snazzy! The tea strainer fits perfectly into the lid! With the lid being double walled, all the drips from the tea strainer go into the lid instead of my kitchen counter. Very nice!

Pros of the Glass Perfect Tea Mug:
+ The glass tea mug is much thinner than I’m used to for glass mugs, but is quite comfortable to drink from. The handle feels good in my hand and is cool to the touch. 12Oz / 355ml makes a huge cup of tea!
+ Lid isn’t ripping hot to deal with and is a super cool design that fits the infuser when not in use!
Cons of the Glass Perfect Tea Mug:
– Sides of the glass mug are SUPER hot (but the handle is nice and cool). At the same time, this is a glass mug, if you want a cool mug, you probably should purchase one of their non-glass mugs.
– Double edge sword lid – the double walled design is really nice for not burning your hands and catching tea strainer drips. However, cleaning this glass lid is slightly annoying as tea gets trapped inside. I rinse my lid off once I’m done with my infuser and shake the excess water out. I’m dreading the day I have a leaf or something trapped in the lid.
Overall, DAVIDsTea‘s Glass Perfect Tea Mug is a well designed tea mug. I could see myself owning a few more of these as they are very practical, have an attractive design and nice size. I quite like how DAVIDsTea has new Teapot and Tea mug designs every season, though my wallet probably would disagree!
DAVIDsTea‘s Perfect Tea Mugs would also be a great piece of teaware for an individual who is new to loose leaf tea. You can also purchase David’s Perfect Infuser on its own to use in your own mugs.
