Today’s tea review is Jasmine Green Tea from The Little Red Cup Tea co. This particular jasmine green is fair trade and organic! This tea is from WuYuan County, Jiangxi China.
Little Red Cup Tea Co also has these really cool tea tins!
Dry Leaf
The Jasmine green has a lovely soft sweet jasmine scent. The tea is small little half moons.
Steeping Instructions
Little Red Cup Tea Co has pretty flexible steeping instructions. They have a basic guideline for a water temperature of 170F to 180F. I’m going to play with this one, wheeeeee!
I steeped 5 grams of leaf in a 200ml tea pot. At around 1.5 minutes I liked the flavor. The tea opened up revealing a cut leaf.
Tasting of Little Red Tea Cup Co’s Jasmine Green Tea
The Jasmine green steeps up a lovely deep orange colour with a soft jasmine scent.
Jasmine green tastes of a soft jasmine – not perfume like or soapy. I’ll give the floral a 3/10 rating. The green tea has a smooth silky texture with a fresh, savory green pepper and lightly bitter background. After each sip I get a floral jasmine taste that has a tint of peachy fruityness to it.
Resteep: The resteep is a little less jasmine in flavor with more green pepper notes. The bitterness is a touch more, but not at all hard to drink.
Comments
I find Little Red Cup Tea co‘s Jasmine Green tea quite neutral with its jasmine level and a friendly, easy to drink tea. This green is s great daily jasmine tea to have with meals, as it’s soft to not overpower your meal. I hate to say it, but I have been asked – this tea could be a great “Chinese Restaurant” candidate, but much more fresh and better quality. If you are looking for a great every day jasmine green, be sure to snag a sample of this one!
The price point on Jasmine Green is inexpensive, especially for an organic fair trade tea! The Little Red Cup Tea co sells their Jasmine Green in sample sizes as too!
