Happy Easter 2013 everyone! I hope you are having amazing tea today! I don’t overload on sweets on Easter, the day after Easter I do as I raid all the grocery stores cheap leftover easter candy! Muhahahaaa!
Anyways, my first blooming tea!
I HORDE blooming teas. I have a bunch that I never used.
My husband bought me a bunch at the LA Farmer’s Market. They were really cheap. I might as well use one to test out this tea pot. In fact, I dunno what flavor this one is.
Alright! Let’s go!
I had to read up how to steep it this thing. Apparently Teavivre’s blooming teas use boiling water *cringe* so I’ll try that.
Adding the water!
Serious, its a blooming tea in a glass pot! I know it looks kinda suspicious! Let’s zoom in with the tea pot filled with water!
Blip bloop blip!
I’m sinking!
Uh Oh! It’s starting to hatch!
At this point I started getting impatient. I started wiggling the tea pot a bit, causing some hot water to splash out the spout and burning me! ERRR! HATCH!
That’s it? I was expecting.. explosions. Of the floral encounter kind. Anyways, this was pretty cool – I did like the surprise of not knowing what was going to emerge from the ball of tea.
The taste?
Flat white tea.
I’ve had worse white tea (all bagged) but I’ve had much better white tea. The longer the tea sat, the more astringent it got to the point of leaving a freaky feel on my teeth. Again, not sure which company did this tea – I’m sure there are better tasting blooming teas out there!
Alright. Now what do I do with that flower thing in my tea pot? I took it out of the tea pot.
Eww, that doesn’t look attractive!
I decided to put my first blooming tea in a small jar so I can admire it longer. I’m unsure how long it’ll last in a jar.
Well, I put a lid on the jar to keep out bugs and dust. Let’s see how long this lasts – if it ever becomes mush, I’ll update and let you all know!
It seems really creepy that I put this flowering tea in a jar. It’s like having a science display of appendages or baby animals. Eww. But the tea looks so pretty!
