Rooibos and Purple Tea Soap from Refresh Tea & Soap Co.

Today I am reviewing a couple soaps from Refresh Tea & Soap Co. This company also sells loose leaf tea, but I asked to review their soaps as it sounded fun. If you are interested in their teas, at the moment they carry mostly Purple tea blends.

Both soaps are Vegan and palm oil free. The soap base is olive oil, rapeseed oil, shea butter, and cocoa butter.

Infused Youth Spa Bar with Spicy Rooibos Tea Soap

The Infused Youth Spa Bar has chai spices and rooibos tea. The bits of tea is to add exfoliation.

The bar smells spicy sweet. My brain wants to fill in apple cider, but it also has a chai quality to it. Either way, it smells like autumn and delicious, but soap.

Testing it out, the exfoliation is pretty mild. I didn’t notice it much, nor did it feel scratchy. I personally prefer a gentle (or chemical) exfoliation as those really scratchy products can damage your skin.

The Infused Youth Spa Bar with Spicy Rooibos Tea lathered up and felt quite soapy and densely thick (YMMV, of course, depending and the hardness of your water, my water is pretty soft). I liked that it wasn’t coloured, as much as I love fun colourful soaps, I hate seeing all those added colours staining my bathtub. The Infused Youth Spa bar left a clean feel with a clean with a touch of spice scent. The leftover smell can be smelt up close, so you aren’t leaving a trail behind you. Post soaping up, my skin felt pretty soft and happy.

Overall pretty happy for a nice luxury bar of soap. This would be perfect for someone who wants a more natural bar of spiced soap. The scent would work well for men too, it is pretty gender neutral.

ZZ Zone Out Bath Bar with Lavender Purple Tea Soap

The ZZ Zone Out Bath Bar is a blend of Purple Tea with wood and citrus notes. Now here is something I haven’t seen, Purple Tea in soap!

The smell of this one is sweet lavender, with an orange citrus and woody background. It seems stronger scented than the Infused Youth Spa bar. The Zone Out Bath Bar is more my speed as I tend to go for minty lavender scents. This Owl likes to relax.

This too has tea bits in the soap adding some gentle exfoliation. Soaping around, I found a big stem of Purple tea.

The soap feels similar to the other one with good thick slippery lather. I figure it is the same base but different smells and tea. My skin feels pretty soft after. No scratchy bits. The lingering scent is lighter than the rooibos, leaving a more standard clean smell with a bit of sweet citrus. It has this vibe of relaxing lavender with a pick me up with the orange.

Overall, I had a pretty good experience with Refresh Tea & Soap Co. Both soaps felt nice, weren’t loaded with dyes nor strong fake scents. Tea soap would make an awesome gift for your tea friends without knowing what kind of tea they like. I personally buy tea soaps when I come across them, but I can’t seem to give them away as they smell so good!
