July 2018 White2Tea Club feat 2018 Green Hype

Last year we got 2017 Hype in a White2Tea club box, which I tried it out of the gate and it tasted too young to drink now. When I knew there was a 2018 Green Hype coming, I drank the 2017 Hype and was surprised that it got massively better with a year on it. I’ve been thinking my tastes quite prefer puer with at least a year on it. My tea package had a hard journey. I opened my box, after sitting not even an hour in my parcel locker, to a tea cake that was over 90F. It… Continue reading, hoot!

June 2018 White2Tea Club feat. 2018 The Thing Is

I woke up one morning to watch my Instagram story feed to a long multi-piece video of White2Tea scaling a tea mountain with a chicken while telling us the secrets of the gushu. Be sure to watch the playlist video so you got a primer as June 2018’s White2Tea Club is the tea from that mountain. I’ve been with the White2Tea Club long enough to know these 50 gram cakes are the bomb in quality and tea drunk. Too many people pass on these 50 gram cake months as they see no bang for your buck (but then why… Continue reading, hoot!

March 2018 White2Tea Club feat. 2009 Jingmai

March 2018 White2Tea club time! This month is a whole 250 gram brick of 2009 Jingmai sheng puer and a sample of Autumn Auburn (ANBURN) black tea. I honestly was most excited by the Anburn black. The spring harvest was in the September 2017 White2tea club, and it was the bomb! I squirreled away the rest of my Anburn black, and I’ll be hiding this one as well until I secure more. That said, I’ll just be reviewing the 2009 Jingmai today. This tea is promised to have a clean, dry storage, with a floral smooth middle age taste. I had this… Continue reading, hoot!

December 2017 White2Tea Club

The December 2017 White2Tea Club is an exclusive 200 gram Huangpian sheng puer cake! You only get this cake if you were in the monthly tea club, or did a monster order during Black Friday. I should have tried this tea around Christmas, but I was so backlogged with other teas, and holidays is mostly me stress drinking black teas and matcha. I am not sure what to call this cake. XXX is on the wrapper? My guess Santa got into the tea early. I can attest that tea drunk driving had me do 60mph in a 35mph zone a few… Continue reading, hoot!

November 2017 White2Tea Club feat. 2017 BP Sheng Puer

November 2017 White2Tea Club! This month, a 50 gram cake of 2017 B_P_ Sheng Puer. Last year’s mad lib cake of 2016 B_D_ was impressively good. I have revisited it and it got even better. It was also warned to let this cake sit for a few months, at least, as it was freshly pressed. I gave this tea until January before trying. Anyways, B_P_? I immediately thought Bad Pirate, but my Tea Owls lack pirate gear. Boxy Pigs? I got Boxy Pigs. (I own way too many stuff toys) I also thought back in I believe Pokemon Black/White I… Continue reading, hoot!

October 2017 White2tea Club feat. Tieguanyin

When the October 2017 White2Tea club arrived I was not excited. Inside is 5 tieguanyins and these days I personally dislike nuclear green tieguanyins. Modern tieguanyin is the most commonly found basic oolong these days that tastes super green, vegetal, maybe floral flavor. I find there’s not enough depth, say compared to a high mountain oolong and traditional tieguanyin. That said, this is the thing of monthly tea clubs – you can’t please everyone. I felt I got great personal value for what I got in November and December 2017, so I’m okay with whatever October throws at me. It did… Continue reading, hoot!

2017 Big Green Hype Sheng Puer from White2Tea

The July White2tea club tea was a whole 200 gram cake of 2017 Big Green Hype, which is part of their new 2017 Spring teas. Yay, I like previews and samples of brand new teas as it gets me hyped for what is to come! 2017 Big Green Hype features a clean logo on fancy textured paper. Leaf and Steeping Method When Hype arrived, it was overly fragrant and fruity, but also warm and swampy from sweating in bubble wrap during the long ship time. I aired the cake out for a few weeks. Big Green Hype looks pretty good and has… Continue reading, hoot!

June 2017 White2Tea club Gushu Sheng Puer

For a week all I’ve been drinking is instant tea, tea bags, and stash old oolong to get my tea stash down. I haven’t had amazing tea in a week, which feels like ages. This month’s White2Tea club is a 2017 Mengsong gushu raw puer 50 gram cake, a tea club exclusive. Last time we had a little cake it was hella good, so I am looking forward to drinking this tea. Dry Leaf and Steeping Method The 2017 Tea Club Gushu cake weighs 50 grams on the button! Such a cute little cake! The scent is strongly floral and delicious. I went full out… Continue reading, hoot!

May 2017 White2Tea Club feat. Fresh Lincang

Ooooh, finally it is 2017 tea time! May 2017 White2Tea club is Lincang Fresh Green and Puer Maocha. Both teas are the same material and farmer, but processed differently. As much as I wanted to drink these side by side, rolling two different temperatures would of drive me crazy. I own two kettles, but that also requires me to clear room in my cluttered tea space. 2017 Lincang Fresh Green Tea I went low temperature rocking 175F/79c, going high on leaf for a green – 1 gram for 15ml vessel size. The hot leaf smells quite fruity, like chewing gum.… Continue reading, hoot!

April 2017 White2Tea Club feat Dancong Drinking Experiment

April 2017 White2Tea Club! This month features two oolongs – Milan and Yesheng Dancong, and a couple 2017 Grandpa’s Ripe Balls. I was torn on what to do for this review at first. This is a lot of dancong to get through for 2 days, especially if I follow the instructions thoroughly. I am also scared of drinking the recent (March) pressed shou – I personally prefer time on these and my gut will unkindly remind me why after the session is complete. I decided to forgo the 2017 Grandpa’s Ripe Balls for now, I will drink it once it has calmed down. If you… Continue reading, hoot!
