Christmas Spice Black Tea from Secret Garden Tea Company – Tea Review

Ah yeah, let’s roll out the Christmas themed teas! Let’s start off with Secret Garden Tea Company’s Christmas Spice Tea. This tea seller is from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, hurray my hometown! Dry Leaf Christmas Spice goes with the angle of the holidays being of cranberries – lots of plump dried cranberries in this tea with a strong spice scent. Upon looking at the ingredients list, this tea contains black tea, citrus peel, almonds, vanilla bean, clove, rose petals, and cardamom. Steeping Instructions I went with my default western style steeping method for black tea – boiling water, 10 oz mug,… Continue reading, hoot!

Spumoni Green Tea and Mexican Hot Chocolate from A Quarter to Tea – Tea Review

More A Quarter to Tea teas! Not too long ago I was sent four teas. I reviewed the more autumn teas eariler and here is the rest. Let’s get to it! Spumoni Green Tea YES SPUMONI! I’ve suggested to many tea sellers to make a spumoni tea. Spumoni is one of my favorite ice creams. There is a restuarant I regularly went to in Vancouver, The Spaghetti Factory, and the end of every meal is the delicious spumoni ice cream. Spumoni seems to vary, but usually it is pistachio with a mix of usually chocolate, vanilla or cherry. A Quarter to Tea’s… Continue reading, hoot!

Kerikeri Tea Honeybush Chai – Tea Review

When my mother in law was in New Calendonia last year, she brought me back tea! Interesting tea at that – KeriKeri Tea Honeybush Chai. What makes KeriKeri Tea organic’s Honeybush Chai unique is the ingredients – Organic honeybush, whole cloves, cardamon, ginger, cinnamon flakes and native New Zealand horopito pepper. That sounds spicy! Before I look up what horopito pepper tastes like, let’s sample the tea! Dry Leaf It is really hard to say something interesting about rooibos and honeybush leaves as it looks like wood chunks. So yeah, the dry leaf looks like wood bits in red, cream and dark… Continue reading, hoot!

Santa’s Cup Herbal Rooibos Tea from TeaXotics – Tea Review

CHRISTMAS TEA TIME! I’m still not in the Holiday spirit yet. My tree isn’t up. I’m starting to buy gifts now, 9 days before Christmas. I’ve done only one round of holiday baking. I love doing the gingerbread house thing every year – that symbolizes Christmas time to me, but I decided against it this year as I really don’t want to eat it! It is hard feeling Christmas here in SoCal due to the weather, especially since I’m from Canada where it is usually snowing right now instead of sunny. I need to feel Christmasy soon or I’ll be… Continue reading, hoot!

Country Breakfast Tea from Teafolks – Oolong Owl Tea Review

Country Breakfast Tea is a black tea with maple syrup, lapsang souchong, maple hickory smoked bacon jerky and chai spices – ginger, cardamon, cinnamon, coriander, cloves and black pepper. This wildly creative tea blend is from TeaFolks, tea seller based in Las Vegas, Nevada. Their teas can be purchased online. First off, this tea has REAL BACON in it. This tea is not vegetarian! I’ve had bacon teas in the past, Maple Bacon Iced Tea from Southern Boy/ Zoomdweebies which has bacon flavors or imitation bacon in it but not the real stuff. I didn’t think real bacon tea could even… Continue reading, hoot!

Cockatiel’s Tea from Pelican Tea – Oolong Owl Tea Review

Cockatiel’s Tea is a white peony tea infused with habanero peppers, blended with freshly dried ginger. This tea is blended and sold by Pelican Tea, online US seller of spicy teas. More habanero infused tea! Time for more spicy burning tea love! Previously on Oolong Owl, I reviewed Pelican Teas’ Tentacle Tea, on the spicy end of medium heat. Today’s tea, Cockatiel’s Tea is rated as “mild” with only 1 hot pepper on the packaging. Of course, from the previous tea, these are spicy food lovers terms of heat. Boy do I need some hot food right now to add some pep… Continue reading, hoot!

Tentacle Tea from Pelican Tea – Oolong Owl Tea Review

Tentacle Tea is a habanero-infused pu’er blended with meyer lemon, home toasted brown rice, cinnamon and mint. This tea is blended and sold by Pelican Tea, US based online tea seller. I came across Pelican Tea on /r/tea on reddit. Another new tea seller? I decided to check out their tea line up – HOLY HOOTS their tea line up is wild and quite unique! Habanero-infused teas. They habanero infused whites, greens, blacks, pu’ers and oolongs! Tea peeps, I love spicy food. If you see me eat a burrito, before each bite there’s a dash (or 3) of hot sauce.
