Oolong Owl at the World Tea Expo – Day 3!
World Tea Expo Day 3! It was a short day at the World Tea Expo, lasting till 4pm. The floor wasn’t as crowded, however there was a sense of hectic buying frenzy in the air – tea buyers making final decisions and swamping popular booths. People felt tired with 2 full days of standing yet still loaded on tea caffeine. I tied up some loose ends and spent most of the day seeing the special events at the World Tea Expo, which I found to be rewarding. I also made some last minute purchases.
World Tea Expo 2014 Oolong Owl Fun!
Teas Sampled: 42 (mostly from the tasting circle)
Bathroom visits: 2. After 2 days of nonstop teas, I think my body figured out how to handle my tea consumption. Just wait until tomorrow, I’m gonna be a dried up pruney owl if I don’t drink 50 shots of tea.
Dribbled tea all over myself: 6. I am unsure if I was jittery or overtired. Both?
Tea Sample Haul: Light, but all good stuff! The Tea Spot’s Steep & Go is very nifty!
North American Tea Championship Teas sampled: All the blended/flavored teas! Tea peeps – the smell at this tasting was incredible! A few meters away I could smell all the peachy, fruity, floral, ginger and lavender. Lots of teas today, so please click the pictures for a bigger image!
Oolong Owl Favorite Event: Korean Tea Ceremony! I love Korean culture and food and really want to visit South Korea one day. I’ve been learning to speak Korean in my spare time. I watch Korean dramas regularly and listen to Korean pop music. I’m a huge Eat Your Kimchi fan! Seeing the Korean Tea Ceremony at World Tea Expo was a treat!
Yixing Tea Pot Information Session temptation: 1 additional Yixing teapot upsold to me. World Tea Expo has a yixing tea pot info session at the end of the day. It was short, due to all of the presentation having to be translated into English, but was informative on the history of yixing, with lots of promotion to how awesome yixing tea pots are! Right after the session, I bee-lined to the yixing pot vendor and bought another teapot! Oops!
Tea and comic crossover weirdness: It appeared the Long Beach Comic Convention was going on today in the same building, different floor. The cosplay here was epic!
My favorite shot – Tusken Raiders drink tea?
For you Doctor Who fans, this was absolutely the cutest thing I saw today – a little boy completely in awe of the Tardis!
Celebri-tea Signing: 2 Hoots!
A fun day again! My feet are dying – I’m writing this post with icepacks on! 3 days of TEA was amazing but my body needs to rest.
Check out my Oolong Owl World Tea Expo Haul to see all the goodies I purchased from the expo! In addition, stay tuned for all the tea reviews of the samples I received, with photos I took of the vendor at the World Tea Expo! So many cool teas to review!
