2021 Sun Fu
I’ve been a quiet Fu Zhuan addict for years now. I feel I don’t talk about Fu Brick much as I fear comments of “Fu is gross dirty tea” but also “more Fu Brick for me”. Part, I don’t want people to know I have a problem. There are days I start with a gongfu session of fu and I lose 2 hours like a junkie. I’m the most excited to try White2tea’s Fu Bricks but also the bar is set high as I expect it to be decent.
Anyhow, the 2021 Sun Fu’s leaves smell like bruised fruit on the autumn forest floor. We can see the bits of golden mold here too!
I ratio higher leaf with Fu Zhuan, so 1gram per 13ml, steeped with boiling water. I do not rinse Fu Zhuan – the best and most intoxicating steeping is the first one as that is most of the mold. Yes, it’s dirty and I don’t care.
After the first infusion, Sun Fu’s leaves smell a bit smokey, like apple cider vinegar.
First, Second, and Third Infusion: The first infusion is sweet, light, and thick. It’s like honey bosc pears, with skins and some bruises. The bottom of the cup is more concentrated in slightly tart honey. All with a balmy texture. The next infusions reveal a smokey tart apple and pear cider flavor. In the background are forest floor twigs and tree sap, with a cool hearty breeze. I breathe and feel cooling in my chest.
Fourth and Fifth Infusion: I almost lost count. Fu Bricks hit me hard and I was starting to lose time and space while my ears pop. I’ve been playing so much Pokemon Legends Arceus and I was lost swirling into the time rift abyss. 2021 Sun Fu is more tart and stronger bruised fruity and tree maple sap. It sours at the end of the sip, leaving a sharp bruised apple.
Sixth, Seventh, and Eighth Infusion: As this tea steeps out, it loses the fruity flavor going more towards wood with mushy forest apples and lemons. My brain is getting a massage.
2021 Sun Fu is a solid, lighter profile fu brick with fruity flavor and moldy mind tripping.
I dig the early infusions as always, though the final infusions didn’t go bitter or stewy, just citrusy. A couple of sessions after this review I found it was growing on me. It is on par with other quality Fu Zhuans I own at this price point.
2021 Old Arbor Autumn Sheng Puer Exclusive from 2021 November White2tea Club
This tea has a creamy fruity pungent scent coming from the leaves.
After a rinse, the leaves smell of creamy sugary fruits.
First, Second, and Third Infusion: 2021 Old Arbor Autumn Sheng is thiccc and sweet – like drinking toasted marshmallows, with fresh leafy floral buttercups. The salivation effect is crazy and the tea is dense to drink, like drinking oil and cement then drooling from it. Right away, I feel fuzzy brained.
Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Infusion: 2021 Old Arbor Autumn Sheng is getting spunky here, bitter green peppers, vegetal dandelions flowers, and greens, starting to stew. Then the aftertaste of peaches slinks in. My brains are getting blender in my skull, I just want to shut my eyes and put my head on my knees.
Seventh, Eighth, and Ninth Infusion: In the final infusions, 2021 Old Arbor Autumn Sheng went bitter but still smooth pillowy texture that goes dry. The flavor is stewed greens with a soft floral aftertaste. The flavor is light but goes in for the bitter kill quickly.

I need to lay down, the 2021 November White2tea club is just all crazy tea energy. Out of all the mini cakes, this one hits very hard and is one of my favorites of all time. The texture is lovely and the energy is nutty.
I was aiming to have another tea after this but I was done, it was as if I drank twice the amount of teas.
