Kuura Esprit De Corp 2023 Tea Club – Spring Raw Sheng Puer

This is my most anticipated teas of the year – the Kuura Esprit De Corp 2023 Tea Club. When they announced it, I didn’t even hesitate to join. I’m a sucker for limited quantities, and there were only 50 spots. This club has 2 shipments, which include 3 teas, a teacup, tea cloth, and “surprises”. I was also able to add on other Kuura teas to ship with the club. The first shipment, which arrived in September, included a booklet, teacup, and 200g raw sheng puer cake. The cup has delicate walls and a griddy unglazed texture on the outside.… Continue reading, hoot!

2021 Metamaterial Shou Puer from Kuura

I needed more of Kuura’s 2020 ‘฿∅ᄱლᐃᗴᚨƀɑᗲʗ.exe’ and a cake of 2021 Metamaterial sneaked into my cart. This was also the first time I ordered via Softer Drink, the North American Kuura dealer. 2021 Metamaterial sounded great on the listing mentioning dark bitter chocolate flavors. I overall find Kuura to have really good stuff but I never order enough due to the lengthy shipping from Australia. I have had a few of their ripe puers in the past and they were excellent – but sold out before I got around to writing about them. Leaf and Steeping Method As I… Continue reading, hoot!

2020 Electroflowercandy and Lovebeamcake White Teas from Kuura

Kuura white tea cakes – names of party drugs or Shojo Anime Magical Girl power? Let’s drink Kuura’s 2020 Electroflowercandy and 2020 Lovebeamcake white tea! I purchased both teas blind as I have no willpower against fairly priced white tea cakes, but also Kuura loves their thick textures. 2020 Electroflowercandy White tea Electroflowercandy is Yunnan material, picked as intended for puer, then sun dried white tea. The dry leaves smell like floral pencil erasers. For both white teas, I used a gongfu ratio of 1 gram of leaf per 20ml of vessel size, steeped with boiling water. After a steep,… Continue reading, hoot!

2020 ‘฿∅ᄱ♥ლ⁸ᐃᗴᚨ⁹ƀɑᗲʗ.exe’ Sheng Puer from Kuura

Yes, you saw the title correctly, Kuura made a 2020 ‘฿∅ᄱ♥ლ⁸ᐃᗴᚨ⁹ƀɑᗲʗ.exe’ sheng puer. FIL, my blog search engine optimization is going to hate this. 2020 ‘฿∅ᄱ♥ლ⁸ᐃᗴᚨ⁹ƀɑᗲʗ.exe’ is a sheng puer blend and is priced aggressively to get the most bang for your buck. With my last Kuura order, I purchased this tea for fun. Leaf and Steeping Method The compression on this cake is on the tight side, but not iron mold painful. The scent is fruity and grassy. Steeped up, 2020 ‘฿∅ᄱ♥ლ⁸ᐃᗴᚨ⁹ƀɑᗲʗ.exe’ has that sticky rice in banana leaf and apricot scent. Tasting of Kuura’s 2020 ‘฿∅ᄱ♥ლ⁸ᐃᗴᚨ⁹ƀɑᗲʗ.exe’ Sheng Puer… Continue reading, hoot!

2017 Rhizome Sheng Puer from Kuura

Today’s tea review is Australian based tea seller Kuura’s 2017 Rhizome Sheng Puer. Rhizome is a blend of 2017 Spring and Fall material from a single forest in Xishuangbanna. I purchased this tea on a whim, thinking the description sounded fun and I like the name. The houseplant obsession has leeched into my tea drinking as I got exciting thinking this tea will rhizome clone out plant babies from the soil. Leaf and Steeping Method Rhizome’s dry leaf has a subtle scent of stale floral. The compression is tight on these sample pieces. Either I got the beenghole or this… Continue reading, hoot!

2017 Ghost White Tea from Kuura

After multiple requests and a free shipping sale, I made my first order with Kuura. I’ve been wanting to try Kuura for a while, and a sale gave me a good opportunity to try them out. I am starting off with Kuura’s 2017 Ghost White Tea, a 200 gram cake. I blind caked it because I don’t mind try buying white tea in volume and Kuura does awesome wrappers. Leaf and Steeping Method Ghost is pretty with a rainbow of leaves and fuzzy grey buds. Sadly once steeped white tea gets ugly. I went with my usual white tea steeping… Continue reading, hoot!
