Now for the most important part of my trip to the 2019 World Tea Expo, the tea haul! Be sure to check out the World Tea Expo Highlights as I go more into detail on some of these teas.

Oolong Owl’s 2019 World Tea Expo Tea Haul

The big eye drawing items in this haul is the stuff I purchased – 2018 800 gram Fu brick, the 2015 heicha log, and a 2019 puer cake. All these teas I bought quite inexpensively and strangely. There were shenanigans of me going out to the parking lot to exchange money for the puer. The shadiest of tea deals, the better the deal.

On my way home, the poor TSA agent had to open my suitcase and pull out all these samples to swab the Fu Brick.

I also got these curious dark tea lumps from one of the Bosesong Korean vendors.

Last year I snoozed on this floral herbal and lost out, so this year I bought a jar immediately.

I managed to get my claws on Zens Lifestyle’s Mobile Moon set. I love the case and I can’t wait to travel with it.

Other fun items I am excited about is the samples of unusual herbals such as the Japanese Wasabi and Avocado Leaf Tea. I also snagged some Bitaco’s Colombian White tea, a pile of instant Dark tea and fu brick from Teagather and Justea/Tumoi’s White Rhino.

I can’t wait to make Fu brick chicken.

A surprise hit is picking up a copy of eighty degrees magazine. I wasn’t expecting this magazine to be 144 pages with no ads.

While in Vegas…

While in Vegas, I might as well treat the Tea Owls. We toured the strip and the highlights were Paris and the Bellagio.

Funny enough, this is my second Eiffel Tower this year.

The Bellagio was gorgeous as usual and they had a Japanese Tea house garden in the Conservatory.

We also ate tasty treats. This tower Raspberry and Pistachio tart is from the Patisserie in the Bellagio.

And this strawberry hot fudge sundae was from Ghirardelli in the Linq outdoor mall area.

In the end, a fun trip to Vegas that was well hydrated with tea. Until the next tea festival (Portland, Oregon)!
