Lemon Lime Cream Tart from Della Terra Teas – Tea Review

Lemon Lime Cream Tart is a rooibos and honeybush blend featuring lemon and lime bits and flavoring, along with cream and vanilla flavors. This caffeine free tea is from Della Terra Teas.

I bought 2 oz of this tea. I knew it would probably be pretty good, since I love Della Terra Tea’s Lemon Chiffon.

DRY LEAF: YOWZAAAA! This tea smells fantastic! It smells like sugary sweet citrus – more on the lime side. Really reminds me of a creamy lime mousse. /DROOOOOL

STEEPED: Smells very creamy with a sweet citrus finish. Oh yeah! The appearance is a classic red-brown rooibos colour. I followed the steeping times as per packaging – 210F for 3 minutes.

TASTE: Very creamy mouth feel! Each sip is a creamy cup that is lightly citrusy – I can pick out the lime mostly but also some sweet lemon! The lemon reminds me of a lemon drop candy! There is a slight bittery tart finish on some sips, something I associate with lime and citrus peel. A 3/10 on the bitter-o-tart-o-meter. It is interesting how creamy this tea is without being cloudy, must be the magic of vanilla! Let’s talk rooibos – the funky rooibos flavor is not here. The tea doesn’t taste as strong as it smells, but it tastes pretty good!

Sweetened, Lemon Lime Cream Tart is still beautifully creamy. I can first pick out that lemon drop sweet flavor, then a gentle hit of lime.

I found the longer you steep this tea, the more creamy it gets. However, the rooibos begins to pop a bit at the 4 minute mark.

ICED LATTE: Sounds weird, but I dig a good iced latte – you’ll probably see me do this more over the summer. Anyways, Lemon Lime Cream Tart as a latte? Why not? I steeped a strong, cup of this tea with less water, then poured over soy milk and ice. The result is pretty good – the lemon pops out the most, with a hint of lime. This iced latte is really creamy, more creamy than milk on its own. If you like creamy citrus things, you’ll love this tea as a latte!

Tip: do not add lemon slice to the latte! I did this for pretty photo purposes and it caused the milk to curdle a bit. I’ve had no issues with this tea (or other citrus teas) curdling milk.

COMMENTS: I’m really craving to have this tea with a nice shortbread or butter cookie – that would be the most perfect night time snack.

Overall, really good. I’m not into rooibos teas but Lemon Lime Cream Tart has low weird rooibos taste.

I like Lemon Chiffon a little more, but that’s really personal taste on whether you like lime or lemon more. Della Terra Teas offers a Lemon Chiffon and Lime Chiffon tea – can’t decide between both? Try Lemon Lime Cream Tart! I’d personally just get all three. The teas are caffeine free, so you can enjoy them whenever you want! I’m personally going to keep one of those teas stocked in my tea stash at all times!
