Sticky Toffee Black Tea from Whittard of Chelsea – Oolong Owl Tea Review

Sticky Toffee Black Tea is a black tea blend with macadamia nuts and flavoring. This decadent dessert tea is from Whittard of Chelsea, UK based tea company. Groan. Seriously. I’ve eaten so much sweets over the holidays. I entered 2014 overloaded with sweets and with so many sweets leftover. Peanut Brittle. Home made cookies. Butter Tarts, Cherry Pound Cake and Pumpkin Pie piled high with cool whip. (not pictured as we ate it all!) I think I’m about tired of sweet things, but at the same time I’m now so wired for sweets that I need to ween myself off… Continue reading, hoot!

Oolong Owl’s 2013 Christmas Tea Haul

Hello Tea Peeps! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas filled with great tea and sweets! It seems I’ve come to a time that people don’t buy me tea things often. I mean, I have so much tea and so much tea ware, I can see it being hard to find something I don’t have. Of course, I have a list of things I do want (cough, tea table, cough), but as usual, surprise gift items are more fun than buying off my list. My husband joked about buying me a Costco sized box of Bigelow tea as a… Continue reading, hoot!

Goodies from Canada!

My Dad just arrived from my home town of Vancouver Canada. Huge weather change from him being in the cold to sunny California. I haven’t had a coffee flavored tea in awhile, so I thought I should give  Cocoa Creme Black Tea a try. Big fuzzy… Continue reading, hoot!

Measuring your Tea: Digital Pocket Scales

It has been on my mind for awhile that I should get a good little digital pocket scale for tea. The more I drink unflavored teas, especially big leafy greens, oolongs and blacks, the more I felt I needed a scale. Majority of the steeping instructions will have you use a teaspoon or two. Those big leafy teas are really hard to measure, it seems I either have to smash up the leaves to fit the spoon, or be a little more generous as “error”. Then there are other teas, like rolled oolongs and pu’er, that are dense and heavy, causing… Continue reading, hoot!
