Limited Edition Qimen from Joseph Wesley Black Tea – Tea Review

When Qimen came out it perked my interest. Then a bunch of my tea friends told me Qimen is amazing and they were buying more as it was a limited edition tea. Then I caved and bought 2 packages – recently ran into some bad tea luck on stuff selling out on me before I could buy it (I shake my fist at white2tea’s bang dong hong!) so I decided I wasn’t going to take any chances. It wasn’t hard to cave in for a purchase at Joseph Wesley Black tea – I love everything I’ve tried so far. The packaging on… Continue reading, hoot!

Genmacashew Genmaicha from 52 Teas – Tea Review

Zoomdweebies, the tea seller that has the 52 Teas line (a new tea blend out each week!) and the Southern Boy Iced Teas as recently redone their shop and made a few changes. I mostly purchase from the 52 Teas line, especially when there is a really cool tea blend for the week. For the 52 Teas line, Zoomdweebies now sells the tea in 0.5oz/14gram packages instead of the 1.5 or 2 oz packages. That way you can try more and take a gamble on some weird (usually good) teas. I ordered 4 teas that looked fun, Genmacashew Genmaicha, Apple Jack’s… Continue reading, hoot!

Discontinued Teas – Finding old favorite teas and heartbreak

I write this as I sip at one of my favorite teas – Good Morning Sunshine – a guayusa citrus blend from Butiki Teas. Not too long ago, Butiki Teas announced she is closing up shop. My undergrad major is psychology. In a marketing psychology class I came to realize what drives me to buy stuff – limited quantities. If I have the feeling if I miss out on something, I freak out. When I heard Butiki Teas was closing down, I ordered a bunch of my favorites (and some new teas that I would regret not trying), not waiting for any… Continue reading, hoot!

Shooting Starfruit and Watermelon Mint from DAVIDsTea – Oolong Owl Tea Review

This summer, DAVIDsTea, has mostly fruity herbals in the exclusive summer collection. I did a DAVIDsTea order last week as part of the customary 3 free samples they send, 2 of my samples were from their new 2014 Summer tea line up! The Summer collection will be released tomorrow, May 7th! With that said, here is a quick review of Shooting Starfruit and Watermelon Mint. Since it is a sample size, I only get one shot at the teas. I decided to prepare them both iced, perfect for summer. Both teas I prepared as per the instructions on the package, but with… Continue reading, hoot!

Shan First Flush Green Tea from Shan Valley – Oolong Owl Tea Review

Shan First Flush Green tea is a Myanmar grown first harvest green. This tea is sold by Shan Valley, online seller of Northern Myanmar (Burma) teas. This tea is a reserve tea that is available for a limited time. Shan Valley sent me four teas to review, but today I’ll be doing a thorough review of Shan First Flush Green tea, my hands down favorite of the four. The first noticeable quality about Shan First Flush Green tea is the price – 6oz for $8 for a first flush green is a pretty good price! By the way, Shan First Flush Green tea comes in both loose… Continue reading, hoot!

Blueberry Cream Cheese Danish Green Tea from 52 Teas – Oolong Owl Tea Review

Blueberry Cream Cheese Danish Green Tea is an unique green tea blend from Zoomdweebies / 52 Teas. Blueberry Cream Cheese Danish tea? Are you freaking serious? Yes! This is actually a new version, as 52 Teas first made a Blueberry Cream Cheese Danish Black tea. I purchased the green tea version as I’m more of a green tea person. How can a tea taste like a danish? The owls are excited to test this tea out! Dry Leaf Blueberry Cream Cheese Danish Green Tea appears to be a mix of green teas, accented with the occasional large blueberry! yum! Very… Continue reading, hoot!

Strawberry Daiquiri Honeybush from 52 Teas – Tea Review

Strawberry Daiquiri Honeybush is a fun, drink inspired blend from 52 Teas / Zoomdweebie’s. This limited time, tea of the week blend is also caffeine free! I bought this tea immediately. No “let’s wait and see if it’s popular” or procrastinating. Though, with 52 Teas, if one procrastinates, it should be kept to a minimum as the teas can sell out! I love 52 Teas honeybush blends. Pineberry Honeybush was pretty funky. Peanut butter cup cheesecake honeybush I worship. I had a few samples of others from tea trades that were fantastic as well. The girlie owls have gathered – they want an… Continue reading, hoot!

French Toast Black Tea from 52 Teas – Tea Review

French Toast Black tea is a funky, limited time blend from 52 Teas, an online tea seller that releases a new blend each week. French Toast Tea! OMG! If you tea owls read my Pancake Breakfast tea review, when I make pancakes, I make a huge batch to last the week for my husband. Do I do that with french toast? I do! However, I own a bread machine, so I make a 2lb loaf of bread the night before, leave the loaf out, and slice and french toast the entire thing in the morning for a crazy stack of french toast.… Continue reading, hoot!
