I was making an Essence of Tea order for a white tea I sampled and had to have. To hit free shipping (because that is not hard), I snagged the 2016 Wuliang H cake. Yes, I blind caked this to hit free shipping. I asked many tea friends, checked a few reviews, so I felt confident in this purchase. However, why did I buy the 2016 when 2017 Wuliang H is out? The July White2tea club tea was a whole 200 gram cake of 2017 Big Green Hype, which is part of their new 2017 Spring teas. Yay, I like previews and samples of brand new teas as it gets me hyped for what is to come! 2017 Big Green Hype features a clean logo on fancy textured paper. For a week all I’ve been drinking is instant tea, tea bags, and stash old oolong to get my tea stash down. I haven’t had amazing tea in a week, which feels like ages. Ice Queen 2007 Spring Bing Dao from Bitterleaf

I took awhile to getting around to drinking Bitterleaf Tea’s Ice Queen 2007 Spring Bing Dao Sheng puer. Every Bing Dao I’ve tried I greatly enjoyed – the sweet flavor tends to ring with my sweet tooth. Liking Bing Dao does not make me happy as it is expensive! Bitterleaf sent me Ice Queen awhile back and since the tea smelled so good, has a $0.83 per gram price tag, so I went into horde mode. Something sparked in me today urging me to drink Ice Queen. May 2017 White2Tea Club feat. Fresh Lincang

Ooooh, finally it is 2017 tea time! May 2017 White2Tea club is Lincang Fresh Green and Puer Maocha. Both teas are the same material and farmer, but processed differently. As much as I wanted to drink these side by side, rolling two different temperatures would of drive me crazy. I own two kettles, but that also requires me to clear room in my cluttered tea space. 2017 Lincang Fresh Green Tea I went low temperature rocking 175F/79c, going high on leaf for a green – 1 gram for 15ml vessel size. White Tea Puer from Shang Tea

I have never come across a tea like Shang Tea’s White Tea Puer. Yes, I’ve seen puer cake and aged white tea pressed into cakes, but what makes this tea different is the processing. They took white tea cultivar (Da Bai/ Da Hao) but they treated it as a puer with withering, rolling, couple days of fermentation before drying. After a year of aging, they steamed the loose material and pressed it into cakes. Once I saw this tea on Shang Tea’s website, I had to try it as it sounded like an adventure! I purchased 2015 That’s No Moon Shou Puer from Crimson Lotus Tea at release. I live close to Crimson Lotus Tea and tried this shou a few months back with them and enjoyed it. I’m not strong with the force (yet), so my wing waving and “You will sell this to me now,” did not work, thus I had to wait until Crimson Lotus finally listed it for sale on their online shop. 2016 Cream Shou Puer from White2Tea

I purchased White2Tea’s 2016 Cream Shou Puer and it arrived sometime early February. I had it air out for about a month before putting into my shou’midor to party with the others. Dry Leaf and Wrapper Cream is a 200g cake and has a simple, retro wrapper. Filthy hoot. The cake is super dark with the odd ripple of dark brown. The smell is a bit like wooden planks. March 2017 White2Tea Club feat. Heicha Comparison and GZ Dry Storage Puer

This month’s White2Tea club is an interesting one – 2013 Anhua Heicha (30 grams), Aged Kang Zhuan Sichuan Heicha (15 grams), and  2006 Guangzhou dry storage Qingbing sheng puer (50 grams). Everything in this month I was excited to try, lets get to it! March 2017 White2Tea Club Heicha Comparison Both heichas are club exclusive.
