Pineapple Cilantro Cream White Tea from Butiki Teas – Oolong Owl Tea Review

Pineapple Cilantro Cream is a Bai Mu Dan white tea blend. This unique tea is made by Butiki Teas, US online seller of loose leaf teas. Hmm. I do like pineapple, but cilantro? I do buy cilantro often, but mostly as a vegetable offering for my bunny. Cilantro in tea? Odd, but Oolong Owl is always up for a tea adventure! Butiki Teas does really good blends – but also their Flowery Pineapple Oolong is exceptionally delicious. I figured Pineapple Cilantro Cream White tea should be good as well. Mini Green Owl has joined us for this tea review. I really need to make… Continue reading, hoot!

White Peony is a 2013 supreme grade white tea. This Yunnan Province grown tea is sold by Mandala Tea, online seller of loose leaf teas. White Peony is also known as Bai Mu Dan, or sometimes written in English as Pai Mu Tan. I do love Mandala Tea‘s goodies. They have amazing pu’er, and a mind blowing milk oolong. How about their white teas? I received this tea as a surprise sample with my order. Actually, this tea blew me away with its appearance alone! This tea is flat out beautiful! No need for tea owls, I’m going to let the tea leaves speak for themselves. Dry… Continue reading, hoot!

Lemon Rose White tea from Whittard of Chelsea

Lemon Rose White tea features Silver Tips White tea, Green Tea, Peony Petals, and Lemongrass. This tea is from Whittard of Chelsea. From what I can tell, I only see Lemon and Rose White tea listed on the UK side of the site and not the US side. Actually, all the interesting blends are on the UK shop side – I hope they bring those teas to their US shop! I always have a lemon green or white tea on hand – they make great iced teas! I also enjoy a lemon tea when I’m sick – I can doctor… Continue reading, hoot!

Cotton Candy White Tea from 52 Teas – Tea Review

Cotton Candy White Tea is a shou mei base with cornflowers and organic flavoring. This white tea blend is tea of the week for September 2, 2013 as part of 52 Teas. You can purchase this blend at their online store, Zoomdweebie’s. First off, I need to mention that Zoomdweebies has a crowdfunding project at Indiegogo to revive their local tea bar. Totally check that out! Mmmm, cotton candy. It was one of those foods my parents never let me try as a child. I finally had cotton candy as a teenager, when I was old enough to go to… Continue reading, hoot!

Butterscotch Tea from The Persimmon Tree – Tea Review

Butterscotch is a white tea blend featuring cinnamon, pink peppercorns and marigolds – all ingredients are organic. This tea comes from The Persimmon Tree. Butterscotch is a new arrival of The Persimmon Tree. I’ve been waiting (and asking The Persimmon Tree) when they would have some new teas, and they are finally here! Butterscotch was the big eye catcher for me – white tea? BUTTERSCOTCH? YEAH! I had great blogging plans for this tea – photos with piles of butterscotch candies. The problem is I’d end up eating all that candy! So we have Owlbear hanging out with us today.   Dry Leaf: Butterscotch smells great!… Continue reading, hoot!

Pomegranate Magnolia White Tea from Upton Tea Imports – Tea Review

Pomegranate Magnolia White Tea is a unique blend from Upton Tea Imports, an online tea seller. This tea is from my first Upton Tea Imports order! I love that all their teas come in inexpensive sample sizes, so I can try a bunch of teas before committing to buy a large size. You can also have your name printed out on these – I should of had “Oolong Owl” printed on everything. Hoot. So, why this tea? Well, I do love pomegranates and floral teas. I have a pomegranate tree in my backyard and it is exploding in flowers. Oh man, I’m going to have even… Continue reading, hoot!

Organic Silver Needle White Tea from Teavivre – Tea Review

Organic Silver Needle (Bai Hao Yin Zhen) is a white tea from Teavivre, an online chinese tea seller. I received this tea, and a few others for review, from Teavivre.  They have a really nice lineup of unflavored teas and blooming teas. I also love Teavivre teaware – great prices! My tea was shipped from China and came a few weeks later, in perfect shape. DRY LEAF: Organic Silver Needle has a peachy dry floral scent. Very nice looking white tea leaves with a mix of silver and green. Organic Silver Needle is also FUZZY! Oh, I’m a sucker for fuzzy tea leaves. Oh man, I just had the… Continue reading, hoot!

Wonders of Kashmir from Della Terra Teas – Tea Review

Wonders of Kashmir is a unique white and green tea blend featuring sweet corn, pineapple, papaya and jasmine. This tea is from Della Terra Teas, an online tea seller of some really creative blends. I bought this tea purely on crazy unique value. Corn? Fruit? Jasmine? YEAH! DRY LEAF: Wonders of Kashmir features some nice big leafy tea mixed with large corn kernels and cubes of fruit. Giant corn! There’s only one jasmine bud in my entire 1 oz!  Kind of odd, I guess they wanted the jasmine to be really slight – I’m going to make sure it makes it way into… Continue reading, hoot!

Yunnan White Jasmine from Verdant Tea – Tea Review

Yunnan White Jasmine is a jasmine silver needle white tea from Verdant Tea. This tea came as a sample with my last Verdant Tea order. I almost ordered this one! It was in my cart, but I was in one of those annoying “I need to order more to hit free shipping, but I’m already spending too much” problems, so I dropped it and requested it as my free sample. DRY LEAF: When I snipped open my sample package – holy moly! It was a blast of jasmine! Really good jasmine! Can I wear this as perfume? The leaves are a… Continue reading, hoot!

White Pu’erh: Mandarin Orange from New Mexico Tea Co – Tea Review and Experience

White Pu-erh: Mandarin Orange is an aged white tea pu-erh presented inside a real mandarin orange! This tea is from New Mexico Tea Company. The description of making this White Pu-erh: Mandarin Orange tea: “From the careful plucking of centuries old tea bushes, to the rolling on wide wicker baskets to the natural wood fires used to flash heat the mandarin orange peel, everything is done entirely by hand. Firing the orange peel serves to kill any microorganisms that may be present.” Okay, that is hardcore. However, I purely bought one of these oranges because it seemed really cool and crazy that there’s tea… Continue reading, hoot!
