Liquid Jade from Art of Tea – Tea Review

Liquid Jade is an organic green and white blend with bergamont. This award winning blend is from Art of Tea. When I saw this tea in Art of Tea‘s lineup I was intrigued. I do love “fresh” teas that add some relief to this dry, hot California weather. Let’s give this tea a try! DRY LEAF: Liquid Jade, from the package, smells lightly of bergamont. Yum! The tea leaves are a mix of varying shades of green and brown. STEEPED: After 3 minutes of steeping at 175F I had a classic golden cup of tea that smells fresh, grassy, citrusy and a little… Continue reading, hoot!

Coconut Creme from The Persimmon Tree – Tea Review

Coconut Creme is a creamy white tea blend from online tea seller The Persimmon Tree. Ahhh Coconut Creme. My very first order with The Persimmon Tree I bought a sample of this tea and was blown away. I was also blown away with their Coconut Chocolate too!  Coconut Creme is pretty amazing – I was very pumped that The Persimmon Tree sent me some for review. I love coconut, though I haven’t gotten into that coconut water trend – I prefer drinking tea instead! Since moving to the US, leaving my family back in Canada, I’ve been absorbed into my husbands family – who… Continue reading, hoot!

Bursting Lychee from Steep City Teas – Tea Review

Bursting Lychee is a exotic fruity white tea blend from Steep City Teas. I’ve had a number of lychee teas, but more often they are black teas. For the longest time, I’d buy this cheap boxed black lychee bagged tea from my local asian grocery store. It was good and kinda lychee, but also bitter tasting as if I ate the hard lychee skin! I’m really happy to see a white lychee tea – so I bought this with my second order with Steep City! I think the white tea would work the best to show off the lychee flavor and… Continue reading, hoot!

Organic Mango Pear Deluxe from ESP Emporium – Tea Review

Organic Mango Pear Deluxe is a white tea blend from ESP Emporium, online loose leaf tea seller. I ordered this tea because the fruit combination sounded really cool! I don’t seen enough pear teas! LOL, pears bring up memories of living up in orchard country in British Columbia, Canada… sneaking in and snagging a few green pears. Don’t do that! DRY LEAF: Nice mango and pear smell! The tea is mostly white tea leaf, with some apple and mango bits accented with marigold petals. STEEPED: Fragrant mango pear scent – great combo! Bit of a weird dry smell at the end. The colour… Continue reading, hoot!

Strawberries & Cream is a green and white tea blend from Della Terra Teas. Oh Della Terra Teas – your sales are amazing and I have a hard time resisting! I’ve done 2 orders in the last few weeks, plus winning a facebook drawing. There is no way I can pass up a strawberry cream green or white tea! DRY LEAF: Strawberry Candy smell – like a strawberry creamsicle! Nice red cubes of strawberries in this tea! STEEPED: Very tangy, sweet fruit smell coming from a pale yellow, slightly green tea! I did a 160F steep for 2 minutes. FYI, The… Continue reading, hoot!

Ginger Zinger from Steep City Teas – Tea Review

Ginger Zinger is a white tea blend featuring ginger root, orange peel and peach pieces. This tea comes from Steep City Teas. I was eyeing Steep City Tea’s white teas. I sometimes pass over ginger blends, as in my mind I classify them as “If you tried one, you’ve tried them all” kinda deal. /the audience throws troll hate mail!  No no no,  I do like ginger, don’t get me wrong! Ehh, maybe I was traumatized by crappy bagged ginger tea. Anyways, I read the ingredients of this Ginger Zinger.. PEACH?! Hmm. Ehh, I’ll try it, I don’t have any fruity ginger… Continue reading, hoot!

Starfruit/ Strawberry from ESP Emporium – Tea Review

Starfruit/Strawberry is a unique fruity white tea blend from ESP Emporium, an online tea seller. Okay – ESP Emporium – your shipping price SUCKS! At the time of this blog post, it’s $7.95 (unless you spend $45, then it’s free). I purchased my tea over a sale weekend, and they sent it First Class USPS with tracking. Tropical Pu’erh from Kally Tea – Tea Review

Tropical Pu’erh is a pu’erh and shou mei white tea blend with tropical flavoring. This interesting tea comes from Kally Tea, an online loose leaf tea seller. I won this tea as part of a giveaway that was posted on Steepster. I got to choose which tea I wanted, and it was a difficult choice with all of Kally Tea’s interesting line of teas. I went with Tropical Pu’erh as it sounded very different and unique. DRY LEAF: Tropical fruit punch smell coming from this tea. I was expecting a more pu’erh smell, but it’s not present. Interesting presentation with the… Continue reading, hoot!

Strawberry Rhubarb Crumble is a flavored bai mu dan white tea. This tea comes from DavidsTEA. ALERT ALERT! This tea is on Last Chance legs! Snag it while you can! I had to review this tea before it disappears. 1, it be weird to review if no one could buy it anymore. 2, to hopefully direct others who love this tea to snag some before it is gone. DRY LEAF: Buttery, fruit, cinnamon and crumble scent! MMMmm! Strawberry Rhubarb Crumble has bit bits of strawberries and rock sugar lumps. Finding the rock sugar lumps is like finding shiny treasure! Coconut Grove from Steep City Teas – Tea Review

Coconut Grove is a Pai mu tan white tea accented with rose and coconut flavoring. This tea is from Steep City Teas, a new online seller of loose leaf teas, based in Miami. Hmm. Pai Mu Tan? Please correct me if I’m wrong – but I’m guessing that’s Bai Mu Dan? I’m guessing as I’m learning to speak Korean, and if Mandarin is similar, the romanization of sounds “B” and “P”, “D” and “T” and “G” and “K” get mixed up all the time. I find the flipping of the romanization makes learning from multiple sources painful and confusing at time. Ugg,… Continue reading, hoot!
