White Cloud White Tea From Teabook

Today’s review is an interesting white tea from Teabook. White Cloud is from Lincang puer bushes that are too young to be harvested for puer. I tasted it at the Portland Tea Festival and was impressed enough to purchase a 50 gram bag of it. Dry Leaf and Steeping Method The leaf is ultra fuzzy and has a stale floral scent. I used 5.5 grams of tea in a 110ml pot. I wasn’t going for ratio here, more so to fill the teapot to 3/4 and steep it. A highly requested review! 2017 Turtle Dove is White2Tea’s newest compressed white tea. It is made from sun-dried, large leaf Yunnan white tea. It is described as being a forgiving white tea and I love white teas that I can beat up. 2012 Fuding Shou Mei White Cake from Teavivre

I am always on the hunt for aged white teas. Awesomely, Teavivre has a 2012 Fuding Shou Mei White tea that I’ve heard good things about from fellow tea drinkers, plus it has a great price. Teavivre was kind enough to send me some to review. Dry Leaf and Steeping Method The 2012 Fuding Shou Mei is pressed pretty flat and my sample contained a few thin, pried off pieces. 2016 Chocobrick White and Black Tea from White2Tea

For my White2tea order awhile back I purchased the 2016 Chocobricks in White and Black. 100 gram chocolate waffle brick for $15 is a pretty good deal. Let’s dive in! 2016 Chocobrick White Tea 2016 Chocobrick White Tea is a sun dried Yunnan large leaf varietal. White tea always looks great pressed as the leaves look artistic with the mix of fall colours. So far, this is the worst waffle/chocolate/whatever pressing I have dealt with. 2017 Spring Silver Needle White Tea from Floating Leaves Tea

Last year’s Floating Leaves Tea Silver Needle didn’t catch my attention, however with just seeing the leaves of 2017’s batch got me excited. I was visiting Floating Leaves Tea and the owner, Shiuwen, showed me the bulk bag of the new 2017 Spring Silver Needle. The fuzz that was flying around was crazy. You probably need to wear a dust mask if you are going to deal with this Silver Needle for an extended amount of time. I had a sample in store, but forgot to buy some. 2016 Nightlife from White2Tea

White2tea‘s Nightlife is a Yue Guan Bai (aka Moonlight white) Yunnan white tea. Nightlife is apparently a high grade tea, made from a large leaf varietal reserved for sheng puer. I purchased this tea on a whim. Hey, I like Yueguanbai/Moonlight whites, so I had no issues dropping blind on a 200 gram cake from my dealer White2Tea. I purchased it at release and it smelled really strong funky from the journey, so I let it air a bit before tucking it with my other moonlight cakes. Quickly, 2016 Nightlife sold out. White Tea Puer from Shang Tea

I have never come across a tea like Shang Tea’s White Tea Puer. Yes, I’ve seen puer cake and aged white tea pressed into cakes, but what makes this tea different is the processing. They took white tea cultivar (Da Bai/ Da Hao) but they treated it as a puer with withering, rolling, couple days of fermentation before drying. After a year of aging, they steamed the loose material and pressed it into cakes. Once I saw this tea on Shang Tea’s website, I had to try it as it sounded like an adventure! Nepal Tea Kickstarter and Tea Review

I first encountered Nepal Tea LLC at the last World Tea Expo. I recall being served some really nice white teas and them being really enthusiastic about their family tea farm being the first certified organic tea garden in Nepal. They also provide housing and education to the locals. I’ve had these teas since World Tea Expo. I have White Prakash and Shangri-La Oolong. Red Peony from Floating Leaves Tea

I frequent Floating Leaves Tea quite often and I didn’t know she carried this tea until I was at the Seattle Tea Festival. I can’t remember how it went, it must of been on sample, and I was super tea drunk.
