Oooh a dragon well green tea blend! You don’t see those too often! Of course, it is a Butiki Teas blend, so it will be good! I do love strawberry and ginger combinations as they remind me of berry ginger ale, one of my favorite soda pop flavors.

Dry Leaf: Nice sheets of dragon well leaves accented with strawberry slices and stringy looking ginger. There is a generous amount of strawberry in this blend!

Smell? Oh man. Out of my Butiki Teas order, With Open Eyes won best smelling tea in my box! The tea smells powerfully like fresh strawberries, little ginger and a little candy like.

Steeping Instructions:With Open Eyes states a 2.5 minute steep in 180F water. I used 175F due to annoying kettle restrictions.

Taste: Very tasty! The flavor intensity is on the light to moderate range. The sip is smooth and buttery, almost toffee like, with a smidgen of grass flavor. The sip develops into a mix of warm ginger and naturally sweet strawberry. Little bit of a nutty aftertaste. Overall, very fresh tasting tea!

The ginger in With Open Eyes is light. It is just enough for you to know there is ginger in the blend, but it also melds with the strawberry and dragon well base.

Resteep: Very good resteep, wow! The strawberry flavor is slightly less, but the buttery flavor is still going strong! I can taste a little sweet chestnut as well. The ginger is popping a little more, maybe in the absence of the strawberry.

Sweetened: I added a little german rock sugar to With Open Eyes, which perked up the strawberry flavor – mixing with the buttery and toffee, tasted a little candy like. The sweetener toned down the ginger that I can’t detect it outright, but I can sense it adding just a little warmth to the strawberry. Very nice, but I personally prefer unsweetned so I can enjoy all the elements of the tea.

Comments: Calling out all the fruity tea lovers! With Open Eyes is very lovely – a delicious treat-like tea blend that has you enjoy the buttery dragon well base as well as the fresh strawberries and ginger.

Butiki Teas is one of my favorite sellers – but sure to sneak With Open Eyes into your cart!
