Will it Gongfu? Oolong Edition

We must ask the age old question…. Will it Gongfu? I’m sure it has been burning a hole in your gaiwan on whether non-gongfu typical teas will gongfu. 52 Teas had a Holiday tea kickstarter a few months back and I was able to preorder for the entire set! All the teas sounded pretty good – Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire, Eggnog Chai, Gingerbread Houjicha, Cranberry Orange Cider Rooibos, and Peppermint Marshmallow Melting in Hot Chocolate. Today’s review is 52 Teas’ Maple Cheesecake Tie Guan Yin – everything about this flavored tea sounds amazing! I got this tea with the last 52 Teas kickstarter, which was the one for the 52 Teas management change. I’m pretty happy so far as Anne has been using more interesting tea bases. 52 Teas has a new kickstarter for the Christmas teas and they all look amazing. Mango Ice Cream Black Tea from 52 Teas – Tea Review

Today’s tea review is a tea I got from the recent 52 Teas Kickstarter – Mango Ice Cream Black tea! This tea has been blended by the new 52 Teas under Anne/Liberteas! I couldn’t resist a mango tea! This is a reblend from the original 52 Teas recipe but with a new black tea base. Dry Leaf Mmmm, Mango Ice Cream Black tea has lots of sweet mango scent. The leaf has nice big lumps of mango too! Lime Jello Salad Green Tea from 52 Teas – Tea Review

I remember going to a buffet with my little 5 year old cousin. Buffets, especially back in the early 90’s, always had jello but this buffet in particular only had jello salad. The jello was lime with streaks of red and green cabbage and a little carrot in it. I picked out a large wiggly cube for my little cousin. Turned out, he never had jello before. I have a couple really good looking flavored tea blends that I’ve been meaning to open and sample. S’mores Chai and Tiramisu Oolong! Very unique teas. 52 Teas have some really neat tea blends that I hope will continue. With that said, there’s a kickstarter going on for the 52 Teas Great Take Over, by the lovely LiberTeas at the SororiTea sisters! Genmacashew Genmaicha from 52 Teas – Tea Review

Zoomdweebies, the tea seller that has the 52 Teas line (a new tea blend out each week!) and the Southern Boy Iced Teas as recently redone their shop and made a few changes. I mostly purchase from the 52 Teas line, especially when there is a really cool tea blend for the week. For the 52 Teas line, Zoomdweebies now sells the tea in 0.5oz/14gram packages instead of the 1.5 or 2 oz packages. That way you can try more and take a gamble on some weird (usually good) teas. It’s time to review more Marshmallow Treat Genmaicha Teas! 52 Teas / Zoomdweebies‘ Strawberry Marshmallow Treat Genmaicha and Peanut Butter Marshmallow Treat Genmaicha! I’ve previously reviewed S’mores Genmaicha and I also own the regular Marshmallow Treat Genmaicha. Both are excellent teas. I was happy to see 52 Teas came out with Strawberry Marshmallow Treat Genmaicha and Peanut Butter Marshmallow Treat Genmaicha. I make some killer rice crispy treats. My secret is extra marshmallows, a generous splash of homemade vanilla extract (made with brandy) or sometimes a whole vanilla bean pod scraped in.
