May 2017 White2Tea Club feat. Fresh Lincang

Ooooh, finally it is 2017 tea time! May 2017 White2Tea club is Lincang Fresh Green and Puer Maocha. Both teas are the same material and farmer, but processed differently. As much as I wanted to drink these side by side, rolling two different temperatures would of drive me crazy. I own two kettles, but that also requires me to clear room in my cluttered tea space. 2017 Lincang Fresh Green Tea I went low temperature rocking 175F/79c, going high on leaf for a green – 1 gram for 15ml vessel size. The hot leaf smells quite fruity, like chewing gum.… Continue reading, hoot!

April 2017 White2Tea Club feat Dancong Drinking Experiment

April 2017 White2Tea Club! This month features two oolongs – Milan and Yesheng Dancong, and a couple 2017 Grandpa’s Ripe Balls. I was torn on what to do for this review at first. This is a lot of dancong to get through for 2 days, especially if I follow the instructions thoroughly. I am also scared of drinking the recent (March) pressed shou – I personally prefer time on these and my gut will unkindly remind me why after the session is complete. I decided to forgo the 2017 Grandpa’s Ripe Balls for now, I will drink it once it has calmed down. If you… Continue reading, hoot!

2016 Cream Shou Puer from White2Tea

I purchased White2Tea’s 2016 Cream Shou Puer and it arrived sometime early February. I had it air out for about a month before putting into my shou’midor to party with the others. Dry Leaf and Wrapper Cream is a 200g cake and has a simple, retro wrapper. Filthy hoot. The cake is super dark with the odd ripple of dark brown. The smell is a bit like wooden planks. Steeping Method I did gongfu style, of course. I used 1 gram of leaf to 13 grams of vessel size. A bit more leaf here as I broke off a clean 7… Continue reading, hoot!

March 2017 White2Tea Club feat. Heicha Comparison and GZ Dry Storage Puer

This month’s White2Tea club is an interesting one – 2013 Anhua Heicha (30 grams), Aged Kang Zhuan Sichuan Heicha (15 grams), and  2006 Guangzhou dry storage Qingbing sheng puer (50 grams). Everything in this month I was excited to try, lets get to it! March 2017 White2Tea Club Heicha Comparison Both heichas are club exclusive. Dry Leaf and Steeping Method: The 2013 Anhua Heicha looks very strange with the sharp shape and layered look! This tea was part of a giant brick, cut down to size. The Aged Kang Zhuan Sichuan is big and leafy with big sticks. I used 1… Continue reading, hoot!

February 2017 White2Tea Club feat. Long Jing Green Tea

A tea friend of got his February 2017 White2Tea Club box early and I thought he was trolling when he told me what were the teas that month. GREEN TEA?????? From 2016 with preorders for 2017? This month – Long Jing Green tea and 200X Traditional Storage Qing Bing. Long Jing Soooooo… green tea. I am really out of practice on how to green tea. I just don’t drink the stuff other than torture sessions with various bad or good matchas. I have been finding the more I get into young puer, the less green tea appeals to me. I can… Continue reading, hoot!

January 2017 White2Tea Club feat Butter Flower, Milan, and Shui Xian Oolong

Finally, the January 2017 White2Tea Club! The mail has been pretty terrible coming out of China lately, likely a large cause being near Lunar New Year. Oddly, my February 2017 club arrived before my January one! People have been bugging me for weeks to review these teas, Butter Flower in particular, but there was nothing I could do as the shipment was delayed! January 2017 White2Tea club features a sampling of White2Tea’s new oolongs – Butter Flower, Milan Dancong, and Shui Xian. All oolongs are available for purchase now. Dry Leaf and Steeping Method Butter Flower has a distinct floral scent. My… Continue reading, hoot!

2015 Channel Orange Shou Puer Brick from White2Tea

I purchased White2Tea’s 2015 Channel Orange during the Black Friday sale. The brick was a cart sneaker of “that sounds fun” rather than a serious purchase. Reading more into this tea, it is a puer blend of 3-8 year old Xinhui Chenpi orange materials, mixed with orange skins. I have to say that Black Friday and holiday tea buying was hectic. I only had 1 order not screwed up – but I say this as positive as I can, as I am very happy my fav sellers are busy and I trust my tea dealers as they are all awesome. That… Continue reading, hoot!

2016 Tuhao As Fuck Sheng Puer from White2Tea

I bought White2Tea’s 2015 Tuhao As Fuck early when it came out, took awhile for me to drink, and enjoyed it enough to not drink it again that I was considering to purchase a cake. I procrastinated, then the 2016 Tuhao AF came out so I purchased a sample of that. I am still procrastinating on a cake as I am quite happy with multiple cakes of the cheaper 2016 Teadontlie. Anyways, today’s the day to try the 2016 Tuhao AF. I felt I needed to drink this soon to compare with my recent review of 2016 We Go High, another… Continue reading, hoot!

December 2016 White2Tea Club feat. 2010 Liu Bao

December 2016 White2Tea Club! This month came with a 250 gram brick of 2010 LiuBao with a sample of Hot Brandy 15 grams and 10 grams of Qilan Trees. I reviewed Qilan Trees back in September 2015 and I bought a cake of Hot Brandy (review incoming). I also got the first round of other White2tea orders come in at the same time as my club. I decided I will just be drinking the club LiuBao today. I am unfortunately missing the information handout that usually comes with the club. November 2016 White2Tea Club feat. 2016 B__D_ Sheng Puer

November 2016 White2Tea club. This marks 2 years with the White2Tea club, which started in November 2014. For the 2 year mark, we got a single 50 gram sheng puer cake. It is Lincang material, picked in September, pressed October, and arrived in November. “B_D_” is a mad lib, go fill in whatever gutter brained stuff that comes to mind, but I automatically thought “Big Dinosaur.” Mr T-Rex is usually at my husband’s work desk, but he came home for a visit. He’s been busy chewing on mini tuochas and rawr’ing at Tea Owls, it seemed B_D_ was right. B_D_… Continue reading, hoot!
